The front right shock absorber has thrown a fault code. Is it possible to just replace 1 corner? Been told that these shocks are pretty hardy but also been advised that I should replacement both Left and Right front corner. Problem is that brand new, OEM shocks are super pricey (x 2 for both corners) and if I buy used, even if I get L & R pair, I cannot be assured that they're from the same car. So obviously the cheapest route is to buy just the Right Hand Front corner used. I'm assuming that given the sophistication of these shocks and the self adjusting nature, 1 corner replacement is acceptable. Thoughts?
I have an idea you can get them serviced, someone might clime in with info. They generally replace pairs but depends on use i suppose Where are you located ? Found Caprainzcnc.com. Also DK Engineering in uk do a rebuild service
I have made this quest and found the best solution Reach out to Leo at madenoracing.com He will have answers to all your questions, knows everything about the topic and costs are very fair.
This is not a code error. Definitely a fault with the shock absorber. Not sure if shipping to Europe for repairs and then back to Malaysia makes financial sense. My original question remains - given the adjustable nature of the F430 shock absorber, is it possible to replace just 1 corner or do I need to replace both L & R sides?
yea of course its possible. most people won't notice any driveability issue anyways, even if you replace it with a aftermarket one with different damping force.
My spelling, i missed out the t Try. captainzcnc.com. Look at the diagnosis tag. Not sure if 430 has this as cannot see mine without taking wheel off
