Image Unavailable, Please Login I'm probably answering my own question...there are 3 bolts that hold the throttle pedal support. I cannot get to the upper bolt to release the support. Image Unavailable, Please Login Do I need to remove the interior cover to access the upper bolt? Maybe I am not seeing it thru this opening? I hate to remove the rivets to pull off the cover. I searched the older posts but could not find someone disassembling this throttle assembly. Thank you!
Image Unavailable, Please Login nevermind, I found where the 13mm bolt is hidden. But I may need a 4-year-old to help me thread it back on!
That black plastic cover piece should be removable -- the soundproofing? material bonding it in is something someone added (and any rivets).
Concur with Steve, on my 1979 USA GTS, the throttle pedal cover (which appears to be vacuum formed plastic) is screwed on...maybe others were different. Paul Image Unavailable, Please Login
Quick question for the OP. How did you access the support from the bottom? What did you remove to get that access? Thanks, Ken
Image Unavailable, Please Login Paul, I wish mine was screwed down and as nice as the one you have shown. Mine is riveted to a very weak edge of the fiberglass floor. I really don't want to disturb the connection, especially after applying lizardskin to the floor. I might cut a 1" circular hole in the cover to access the bolt (that cannot be removed without the cover off) and then plug with a flush floor plug - I know, heresy.
Image Unavailable, Please Login Ken, there is an access aluminum plate attached to the underbody panel....... Image Unavailable, Please Login But my worn-out underbody panel has been removed..... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Also - it would be nice if someone would 3D print that cover. Mine was all busted up, and I found a NOS one on E-bay of all places. Still had the tag on it with the part number. I bought it and finally got around to installing it last week. The other guy that should think about making is is Verell.
