Can we just take a moment to appreciate just how good the Netflix "Drive to Survive" series is? If you're not watching it, you really should. The insight into that world is incredible,

*sure, it's still scripted to a point, but it's based on reality.

edit: except the last 3 minutes of the last episode of Season 3

I do wish we would have seen more of that, but I can understand the focus on Grosjean in that episode.

saw first episode of season 3 last night.

The fake announcer is still annoying me to no end. And I want to punch Will Buxton each time I see his stupid face on tv.

    Good morning everyone.

I wonder if some of the missing storylines from 2020 are due to a lack of access to certain garages at times? There was very little about Williams, and yet Russell was the big story of Bahrain II

I like it. Anything that helps the sport /show. I wish they would cover more of the technical aspect but Happy for what we get. Guenter Stiner is the rock star.... who knew everyone had such a potty mouth!!! the F word is all over the place. I'm also surprised that non-English drivers use the F word when something bad happens vs. their own language....

I see Lawrence Stroll in a completely different light - much more serious than I thought... you can see that the people around him are nervous all the time... clearly he's not playing... which I like.

I thought Horner and Marko were like the two old guys on the muppet show... always some quip about what happened. Finally the Grosjean section was very moving.....
    other observations:
not much from Hamilton... pretty blah. ( I think he and the assistant Angela are an item)... just me
Bottas naked is probably something they could edit. otherwise i like him a lot... good guy & driver.
Abietabul - everyone can now understand why Renault has not been successful...
Mick Schumacher... came out well... hope he can perform
    Gene Haas wants out...
Riccardo - is on the down side of his career - unless he kills it at McLaren
Ron Dennis must be dying a slow death with how Mclaren is now.
Binotto clearly has an image of himself... which needs to change... they need new leadership bigtime.

I agree on Papa Stroll. That is not a man to be fooled with, and he's deadly serious about winning. That bodes well for Aston Martin's chances.

I know in quite a few languages the F word is used widely these days as a swearword. Not sure where it came from but presumably influence from movies? Steiner is a riot. I've got a feeling Gene Haas is regretting every moment he spends in F1.

+1 Only seen the first episode so far but Lawrence really has a certain ''air'' around him that commands absolute respect. Quite imposing. Lance however...I've got a feeling he reads a book of ''heroic phrases'' before he says anything. He just doesn't come across as genuine. I don't know it's it's nervousness, editing, bad acting, a ''need'' to make a personality of himself...not a clue.

Just watched the Ferrari episode. So what sponsor’s name is taped over below Hublot and Kaspersky on their left sleeve?

Wei-chai (I believe that's the correct spelling???). They left in 2020.

    They are back for 2021.

2nd episode...I've got a feeling Horner doesn't really like Todt. ''Oh there's Todt...should I go say hello to him?"

He seemed pretty reluctant to go see him.

I absolutely cannot stand Binnozo. He is unwatchable. How he can appear so smug while failing so utterly completely and thoroughly. He thinks he’ll have a job at F1 or the FIA like Dominicali or something.

Ok so just seen the Mercedes episode. It of course was never a secret that it's not Bottas' team...but ****ing hell, the behavior of the Mercedes team is simply shocking towards Bottas. He's about as welcome in that team as a fart in a space suit. New found respect for him now.

It sure makes Nico Rosberg's decision easier to understand.

Same regarding Ron Dennis came to my mind when I saw the messy (for former McLaren standards) desks, when Zak Brown walked around in the empty MTC in episode 1 or 2. Ron would probably have fired all of them...

Sour grapes. that is all this sounds like. If you want to be included in the footage - you have to give access. if not - you get what you got. there is no story going forward for Williams Family so why would Net Flix cover it? NF are not F-1 fans or historians .. .they are making a documentary to get views... sensation sells not the end of an era. Frank Williams came in quietly and he's left quietly... seems about right to me.

I just finished season 2. Claire's leadership ability is atrocious. Some of her comments "well maybe we'll get lucky and everyone will crash" are embarrassing. She was clearly in far over her head. She lacked the ability to problem solve difficult situations or get tough with employees. She came across as a joke.
