I am planning a drive day and have got the route down to just on 400 kms for the day with some really nice roads and am adding a questionaire to make it even more interesting.

Is 400 kms plus lunch and morning tea too many kms for one day ?

Not for me but the old dodderers in V12s might struggle missing out on their afternoon nap.

GGers and Gary could handle it but people like Steve aren't use to putting in a long day and for Simon and Rob it's probably a bit short.

So, what's the ideal distance for a days driving in a Ferrari ?

Sports cars tend to be a bit harder on the body

Are we talking red ferraris and men dressed as post boxes or normal people?

    Asking for a friend.

John, if you remember in the many MMs we did together they would be 400 to 550ks in a day over 5 days , morning tea was a quick affair and lunch quick.

The drive I'm doing to the Blue Mountains each day around 450ks so add in morning tea, fuel stop and lunch (allow 2 hours) thats a 6 hour run ,a big day ..

Plus think of the wives and partners they don't want the long distances IMO.

Or John gives them two options , problem with that is you split the group, I guess he can only try the long run , could be a roaring success .

Would love to but trying to fit in the AGM and lunch cuts down road time down.

I might make a special route for Andrew, Con and you :)

I did the run in the Lexus yesterday and it was fun as the Falken tyres have finally bedded in and the little buzz box actually was quite fun even at the speed limit on these roads ;)

Exactly Rob, two groups means you need double the support team as Ferrari usually supply a service team to follow the group and help anyone that has an issue.

The 400km drive is great for just a drive but when you want to fit an AGM and lunch is it gets a bit tight for evening preparations

Well if he included Maccas vouchers for the lunch stop that'd speed things up a little! :D

    Fixed.

Personally I'd always rather spend more time driving and less time standing around drinking coffee / having lunch, but I guess when there are other things you have to do (AGM), fair enough.

It's one of the reasons I like organising the drives as I get more time driving, I don't just do a google map and hope for the best :)

You need to finish by 3pm, stay overnight and get on the P155.

Then leave 9:30/10:00 am next day.

The day went extraordinarily well. We had a couple of new members well into their 60’s who absolutely loved it. No one complained about the length of the drive because the roads were so bloody good. I say 400 will be fine. AGM will be at Concorso.
