We prefer it as it suits the the mood of our travels on the island ,I did notice the last time a far more stronger police presents on the roads along with TV adds re speeding and motorbikes accidents ..

No, ,.......I saw the Moffat/Jane races many times at Oran Park, the Jane car usually beat the Ford from memory but there was a black Porsche with red "Carrera" written on the side and it ALWAYS beat both Moffat and Jane to the first corner only to be swallowed up on the next long straight

 

That would end in disaster ..

I could so add that Jane raced in those days the Camaro , the late John Harvey the HQ Monaro in the ATCC, Jane once it became a S/S..

Black Porsche ? There were various Porsche's that raced in the ATCC None were black (Yellow, Red, Red ,Red) Foley,Brown,Hamilton and Mckeown ...

The black Porsche was driven by a WA guy, I was actually rooting for the porker to win the race against the odds .... I remember the yellow one running mid field

 

If it's not red ya better off dead

 

I might have a pic , it was in '73 so who knows where I've put it

 

I can even tell you the Porsche Ray Thackwell, black RSR 2.8 that was repoed by Bob Jane not long after ..That was the Oran Park Toby Lee series , Jane never raced the Camaro in that group..
