That car has an interesting paint history, when it was first built it was lime green, and a customer ordered a blue car.
The factory repainted the car but the green was under the pinch welds, so when it was painted it was painted green and blue over the top, as it left the factory. The current owner had the choice of the two colours and it would have been supported by the factory either way. He chose the blue... great choice.

    Hi everyone

I haven't been out much do to failing health again. I went through and decided to start up the 308 as it been sitting collecting dust for months now. I noticed my brake pedal was very spongy and getting close to the floor before it would start braking. It still stopped ok but wasn't to comfortable with the brake pedal being that low to the floor. It's still drivable but I'm avoiding getting on Boost in case it needs to stop quick.

I've ordered a new master cylinder. Could it potentially be something else and not just the master cylinder? Brake fluid level seemed ok. couldn't see any leaks

Hey Gary I did a Noosa Classic Car run yesterday and asked a bloke who has an interesting collection if he knew what might have come with Stahlwille as standard (answer: no idea) but he has a few Bristols so if you have any odds and ends parts for those he’d be interested and I can pass a list or wahtever to him.

Interesting conversation at local classics run yesterday, very elderly gentleman (driving a beautifully maintained Wolsely) comes up to me as I’m getting out of the 308 and says many years ago at some pharmacists convention he’d met a man from Melbourne in a beautiful green 308 - a man named Ron Davis I said.? Yes, that’s him! So then it turns out this bloke has raced a Brabham (ex Gavin Yule) in years past and knows Uncle Ray so we had a lovely chat about the good old days of Ferrari gentlemen racers in Aus! Was definitely the best part of the day. Graeme Brown for those who might remember (he ‘knew of’ TY as well).

    Hi Steve,
If the master cylinder is leaking and you can’t spot any leaks then it would likely be leaking inside the Brake booster,,Check that as well when it gets pulled apart..

Same thing happened on my GT4 and when I replaced the Master cylinder, I decided to have the Brake booster overhauled as well, being that it had a bit of brake fluid in it and it was over 30 years old.
