So sorry to hear, my deepest condolences.

I specifically asked my dad about his watch (the Seiko above) because I had seen him recently for the first time in like 6 years. He's 80, and while he's in great shape, we don't live close geographically and the watch is something that will always remind me of him. I used to put it on as a kid and pretend I was a business man or someone important.

I posted a picture of my Dad’s Seiko 5 a few pages back. Sat in a box after he passed away over 24 years ago and it still ran when I took it out recently

Funny how a little memento from the past can mean so much. There is a lesson there for some of you.....they’ll piss away the cash in no time at all, but if they have soul they’ll keep the watch, shotgun, car, cooking spoon, whatever, forever and actually appreciate it.

My grandfather's Gruen Precision Cal 510 mechanical. It's still working, but could use a nice cleaning! I changed the band, it had an aftermarket Spiedel band which looked crummy.

I like those vintage ones with a sub dial.

It must have been the thing back in the day, because there are higher end watches that look very similar. I dig that vintage look, I was thinking about a Timex Marlin, but now I have these watches to scratch that itch a little.

Haha . Around 6:09 and 45 sec. Probably set fast a couple minutes as the post was 6:08pm. Just have to look at the red arrows in each dial. You get used to it after a while.
