Thanks Marcel. I thought so too. I used to spot him on the back roads exercising an SWB, I don't know if it was this one. I seem to remember it being a very dark blue. That was over 30 years ago. john

Gianclaudio "Clay" Regazzoni in 312 P #0878 at the 4th April 1971 BOAC 1000 kms in Brands Hatch, together with Jacky Ickx they placed 2nd OA. Marcel Massini
Incorrect. The model is a 312 P (from 1971). Many people refer to it as a 312 PB incorrectly, and Ferrari did not sanction this description.
Many people is quite the understatement! Every single book and model I own in fact. Thank you very much for the information, I guess it's another SWB where everyone knows the colloquial description, but it's not actually the official designation. Every day's a school day
512"M" #1010. Ickx and Giunti. Austrian 1000 KM 11th October, 1970 at the Osterreichring. DNF electrics.
I believe this is the translation for anyone who was wondering: Dear colleague, Having noted that on some occasions the Ferrari 312 / P car is indicated with the initials PB, please bear in mind that the Ferrari prototype built for the '72 World Championship Makes is marked with the initials 312 / P. I consider it appropriate to make this clarification in order to avoid confusion, as the letter B is distinctive of the Ferrari 312 Formula 1 cars, of which the B1, the B2 and the current B2 / 72 were built, which will be followed by the B3 in our forecasts. Thanks and best regards Franco Gozzi. Maranello 25/1/1972. See also Ferrari Website. Image Unavailable, Please Login
512S #1042. Watkins Glen 6 Hours 3rd OA Andretti/Giunti and Watkins Glen Can Am Andretti 5th. 11th and 12th July, 1970. I think Andretti at the wheel.
Can we please have a bit more precision here? You forgot to mention the internal engine block number and the gearbox number! In that particular race chassis #1042 had a type 261/C engine with internal number #21 and gearbox type 603/S with internal #2. Marcel Massini
