Work top/bench. Cupboards, shelving, I was going to say under floor heating, but depends how cold it gets where you are.
I guess something that stops the climate getting to your cars, especially if they are classics, or generally Italian

a minimum of 12’ (will allow 6’ walk under) preferably 14’ ceilings if you’re going to install lifts. Pour the foundation extra thick and install heating pipes if you live anywhere cold. A/c if somewhere hot, even if just a mini-split, is a plus. Plus what the others have already said!

No, the idea is not to have the floor hot but just to maintain a non freezing and non damp ambient temperature.
I think mine stops the winter temp falling below 12 degrees C.
I also run a plug in de- humidifier.
If I lived in an area with more extreme temperature variation I would consider investing in more HVAC.
As it is, in summer in the UK, I just open the windows.

I’ve had radiant heat in my garage floor for 15 years with absolutely no downside. The fact that I can walk around in there barefoot in January makes it the perfect spot for my man cave.

Which I guess raises the man cave / garage sliding scale
Some garages are more man cave, others are more garage.
Most are to an extent both, but the degree varies.
Good questions to ask your self are:
Would I watch a major sporting event on TV in my Garage or my house?
Would I keep alcohol in my garage?
Do I like an occasional smoke?
Do I envisage a sofa next to my Ferrari?
Do I want to sit on a sofa with a drink in one hand, a cigar in the other while watching football on TV and giving my Ferrari an occasional appreciative glance ?
If the answer to any of the above is yes then you are moving toward the Man Cave end of the scale and should adjust the HVAC provision accordingly ;)

These are all good ideas from Graham, I did not include thoughts like this originally since I was focused on the garage feedback. My "shop" is 2/3rds shop and 1/3rd man cave with all the items Graham lists above (TV, recliners, game table, frig, alcohol, etc).

I happily can answer Yes to all those questions (with the exception of the smoke)... it’s definitely my happy place

    Hi all,

Haven't posted here before, but it's time to show my (small) mancave transformation [emoji56]. It's work in progress. The new door will be installed in 2 weeks and the table will be replaced with a bar soon. Then I hope my car will be back home, that's why the parts are all over the floor right now... [emoji848]

I will make some better pictures. [emoji16]

they just got the epoxy under as much as they could. The lifts are going anywhere so not a big deal for me if there is bare concrete underneath them.

Henry, do you take your 348 Challenge to the track ever? Are you in the northeast by chance? Would love to see another 348 Challenge other than mine!
