Hi all, thanks in advance. What can you expect to pay for a ceramic coating on your car? I’m thinking of getting the 4-coat version from Ceramic Pro. Just looking for general market rate.

    Thanks!

I may do that for my 2001 BMW 740iL. Who in LA would do it for $1.5k?

Ceramic pro has a bad rep among professionals. Byron, gtechniq, opticoat or cquartz all do far better vetting installers and offer better products

Xpel without Ceramic coating. For me it allows me to detail my own car (which is mentally therapeutic for me :).You treat the Xpel just like clear coat and you get the added bonus of rock chip protection.

I just bought a '17 McLaren from a Mac dealer out of state. When the car came out of the trailer, I felt like I had been kicked, (and stomped) in the stomach there were so many rock chips, I thought I would have to repaint the front of the car. After the wrap came off, I think there is one chip left, and it looks like that probably went on before any wrap was done. I've never had a car wrapped before, but this one is going in next week to have about 75% rewrapped.

Yes Denver Auto Shield, they were great to work with, real professionals. I have friends that did more price shopping, but after seeing there results, you get what you pay for. They are also the provider to Ferrari of Denver. Good luck!

Yes its a clear plastic coating. Comes in sheets that can be cut accurately to fit any section of the car. I've had it applied professionally to all of my cars. Prevents minor rock chips etc. And as mentioned you treat it like any clear coat i.e. waxing, sealants all okay.

I don’t think you’ll be disappointed unless something goes wrong with it. My last Ferrari didn’t have a front end PPF, so it picked up a fair number of stone chips. Once a year, I would touch them up myself. Sold it to the next guy who didn’t really care.
My current FF has a full front PPF and I’m glad that it does. It has absorbed a couple of stone chips already in 4 months of ownership, so good results. I also have the lower skirts / rocker panels wrapped to prevent lower body blemishes from anything kicked up by the tires.
I have also applied ceramic coating (Kamikaze Miyabi, 2 layers) over the PPF sections as well as the “bare” sections of the car. Water repelling and self cleaning capabilities are outstanding.
Wife’s car has a small front end wrap, it’s durability is so-so (XPEL film) and it seems to pick up swirls and scratches easily. So, my advice is care for the PPF gently to avoid it looking beaten up.
