I’ve attempted to search with no luck. I’m looking for a modern radio / head unit that will match the classic look of the 355.

the closest I got was the VDO continental series but it lights up orange or blue :/. We need green.

    any help is appreciated.

I run a Becker 430 head unit in my 355, it's "Ferrari" branded and is more modern than the stock Sony (although at this point it's 15 year old tech). I don't recall if it's display is green or amber though, whatever color it is, it doesn't upset my F-OCD.

Let me know if you want a photo of it.

Continental probably looks the most "at home" but the backlight issue is unfortunate. Friend of mine said a competent tech should be able to physically change the backlight though.

360/550 etc. radios aren't much better.

Bluetooth audio streaming is basically the bare minimum.

Clarion M508 is nice also. I have it on my boat and the Bluetooth streaming is top notch. Connects quickly.

I have an out of sight audio unit in mine. Basically hidden amp unit that you connect to via bluetooth and phone is the only control. Stock head unit runs through it but doesn't have to. I have that 360 head unit linked above mine

This was my plan with my previous 355. I would do the same to my current one but it doesn't have the original head unit anyway so might as well put something else in.

The Becker Cascade, and your Bremen both sound like good ideas. I was looking at this Sony. It is very simple looking. So that appealed.

Bremen SQR46 is a great unit I have in my 964. I agree it's more Porsche style but I don't think would look bad in the 355, particularly because you can change the color to match factory.

That's the main reason I bought it...retro look with infinitely adjustable RGB LED's to match the factory lighting.

I wish the continental units had this.

Have you considered buying a period-correct cassette radio with CD controller, then usean adapter cable from the CD output to your phone/MP3 player?

I did that in a 98 Mercedes SLK using some bits from GROM audio, an adapter plugged in perfectly where the CD connection was before. And it created a bluetooth connection, which is what I want. Pretty happy with that. The Bremen still sounds like what I will do for my 355.
