The McKlein tri-lingual 312P book is excellent. There's not much to say on that car and this book does it all with many fab photos. The balance is about right - would be thin if one language and might not justify getting it done.

Agreed. Four seat Ferraris have never received the respect that the two seaters do, especially in the US.

At least the Germans, Italians and even the Russians often do books either in English-language editions or multi-lingual editions that include English - not ideal, maybe, but good enough for me.

The French, on the other hand, are another story altogether. The fact that many books published only in French would probably sell many more copies worldwide if translated into English seems to be a foreign thought to their marketing people.

CF the Pozzi Book by Arnaud Meunier.

I put him in touch with my publisher Doug Blair of Eau Rouge publishing, translated the text, adapted it, added some content and it has been very well received.

FYI there is a big cultural chasm. I am in the middle of it so can confirm that. Neither side of the channel is particularly guilty or innocent, it is just the way it is. I hope the Pozzi book is the first of many however I am not going to do many translations, I have other things to do. A book translation is akin to a medieval monk working in his candle lit cell, it takes forever if it is done properly. In many cases if you send a written list of questions asking for written answers you never get the answers, specially with people from certain countries. So you have to do an audio recorded interview in person or by phone. One of the reasons few books have proper interviews in them is that transcription of an audio interview takes ten times the recording time. Yes, done properly not by some teenager in a computer sweat shop in some third world country. So many authors and publishers just wing it. A great pity and I am proud my own books all have uncastrated interviews.Needless to say not all interviews are of the same quality and some are not worth publishing...but then again there are gems that make it truly worthwhile, that is a huge satisfaction.

    100% correct !!

A few of my shelves are bowing but to be honest as long as they are holding up the books I don't really care. The books are the first priority.

Actually I was going to replace them all with sturdier bookshelves but then more and more Ferrari books become available and I'd just rather spend the money on those !!

    #hardcorecollector !! :) :)

    I had a bookshelf collapse!
The weight flexed the shelf enough to retract from its pegs.

Nothing broken so I put the heaviest books at the bottom.

It is amazing to see all how collections are stored and the vast amount of incredible related books / items people have amassed.
I myself have a small collection of items for the few cars I own but have nothing like you guys.
I stand in awe for your ability to source and acquire all these gems!!!
My hat is off to you all :)

    Regards,

So here is part of my humble Ferrari collection in my bigger motoring library (bending shelves and all :)).

I've been collecting Ferrari books for over 30 years but only started to really ramp it up over the last 4 years or so.

I still have quite a few more but the larger, heavier stuff like Opus, Ferrari Berlinetta by Groh, etc won't fit on the shelves.

Most of the must haves are there but like many of you guys, there is always stuff on order or coming in the post.

Big thanks to JM2 for his assistance as well.
