    But isn’t that e-plane PP posted a substitiute for prop planes? I have friends with 4 seaters and the maintenance on those is steep.

    Prop planes are turbine engines as well Karen...Those require a fraction of the maintenance of a piston prop engine... Downside is they cost a lot more than a piston engine. ...

    Isn't a turbo prop a jet engine with propellers or something?

    Too complicated for me.

    But electric will be amazing if they solve the problems. Noise and vibration all but eliminated in "small" planes.

    As I posted I thought about that.

    No idea what noise and vibration comes' ([emoji769][emoji2398]) from the prop, but it'll be less with electric.

    Next time you find someone with a very large Drone on steroids listen to the propeller frequencies.... They will drive you crazy if you have to sit next to one for hours on end... Ten times worse than your Mother in Law...

    In a turboprop most of the noise and virtually all of the vibration is from the prop.

    And yes, it is basically a jet (turbine) engine with a prop instead of a shrouded fan.

    Passing 82N the compass changes from magnetic north to True north Adrian…Yes then the compass starts to spin and you have to keep adjusting your heading bug…It also uses grid navigation….There is also a keyhole over the pole…This is a simplistic answer as there is quite a lot to it….:)
