Another option would be to keep the V12 reserved for Icona/Hypercars. That would have a significant impact on company CO2 and perceived value for those cars....
But yes, a similar interview was also giving to TopGear magazine where they claim the V12 is part of history and they are fighting to keep it.

IMHO, looking at these 2 images in a vacuum and with no Ferrari knowledge - One may have difficulty in saying which is older and which is newer!

And surprisingly the 812C does look almost elegant from this angle/comparisson.

Not just almost but I would say for sure along with most non hypercar ferrari models. It’s in the styling identity as suggested before.

I would go the other way and have the shields painted!

I do. My TM plan is to delete them but I've already been told to expect pushback. If I must have them, then painted.

I think painted shields really suit the side panels of the 812SF/C/CA and add a nice splash to a large panel ... imvvho

By the way, has it been any official communication regarding planned production numbers? I have missed it.

Yes me too. The pushback will come from who exactly, the dealer or Ferrari?

The panel is too large for regular shields imho so agree no shields or painted shields.

Supposedly with the TDF they wanted their special more racy version to have shields and those shields need to be the traditional ones of a black horse against a Giallo Modena background with the tri-colore chevron above and the SF at the bottom.

Whats interesting about this discussion to me is over the past little bit I am finding my reaction to the 812 C design is that if you take away some of the fussy details like the tire stickers, then it is not much more aggressive than the TDF. I think taking away the shields tones it down a little more.

I think the idea of connection to track activities argues for the presence of the shields, but I can understand how someone might prefer to quiet the look down a bit.

Any insight into pricing and list w. options? Has anyone received anything?
When will the 812SF replacement be revealed and will it be a N/A?

If this was a plain jane GT then your choice, but as this is a “competizione” edition, the shields must be painted.

But the purists would say that shields are for race cars, this is a road car, albeit a sporty one.

I think Caeruleus11 is spot on with his comment that if you make the car less fussy it is not that aggressive. But I kind of like that … could an “understated” 812C be cool?
