If I was in the GTR I would have got there 5 minutes before I left. Silly signature here to annoy KIAI
No braking aids ABS,handling stuff soft/hard shock adjusting? Lets not even start trying to explain the intricacies of left foot braking either..
That run with you on the Omeo will go down as one of my favorites in 35 years of Horse. My car was so, so good on that road and the sight in the mirror of you with a little opposite lock on the tight corners was gold. I’m even thinking I’d do it again in Horse.[emoji3][emoji3] Silly signature here to annoy KIAI
Would be the only thing that would make the GAD better. Beside not sitting next that guy waffling about electric cars all night. Silly signature here to annoy KIAI
Great to hear!!! It was,as you know, the first time I gave Shagger his head(so to speak),he surprised me with his handling and braking. Given that he's still only done about 4500 klms on a rebuilt engine I'm still hesitant for any more than 75% revs. I'm going to make some enquiries re fitting a 5 speed,Rob given me some tips and I've been on the WWW,quite a few do it including a couple in Q.
WTF !!! Are you mad (rhetorical), ABS has NEVER raised it's ugly head in my car even on the track, nor does it have the hard/soft setting (normal 355 yes but not on challenges) And what does it matter if you select hard or soft ? Hard is just the normal Ferrari setting for their road cars, prior to putting in the "soft" setting for **** roads on the later cars (I wish I had this sometimes) It may have ABS but it's been turned off for years now (I don't need it) ASC nope SSC nope PSK nope Adaptive suspension Nope Adaptive brakes Nope Look, I like swapping gears by hand but having driven paddle shift ferraris I can see the enjoyment and the modern Ferraris are so quick that I think you NEED paddle shift because things are happening a lot quicker in them and you need that time saved to keep a close eye on the road. The old days are just that, old, not better
Anyhow whatever to ^^^^^ I digressed when I started on the driver aids and they were only attributed to cars like the GTR. My,and others, issue is with the lack of engagement with a paddleshift v/s the full and IMO much more entertaining driving with 3 pedals and a remote centre mounted gearshift. It gets even more entertaining when you're in the tricky stuff and start employing left foot braking...bloody magic!
I thought you were having a go at Steve Real driver aids in Ferraris didn't start until the 360 turned up and even then they were very rudimentary but you can understand why they needed to do it. With 600+ HP from the latest batch of supercars you need to be an F1 driver capable person to drive them without any computer assistance or at the very least an extremely capable driver .......... with the aids anyone can drive them Have you seen those videos where idiots with NO talent turn them off and then floor the loud pedal ? Disasters
Some years back on the GG, Peter in the 355 and me in the QV had the most brilliant run down the mountain from Dorrigo to Bellingen, you NEVER get a clear run but we did and it was a hoot
