FWIW - today was my first time really driving the new 765LT. Same twisty canyon roads I have driven the Performante, CS’s, F12 TDF, 458’s, etc. The 765LT was light years ahead in terms of rigidity, feel, grip and of course pace. As owners know, the 765LT is batshat crazy. I simply could not believe the pull and speeds in 3rd and how the car put it down. As Matt Farrarah said...shouldn’t be legal! Sadly, sounds like azz most of the time though.
Maserati are not producing carbon tubs themselves. Production takes place at an Adler Group plant near Naples, same as the Alfa 4C tub before which even was at a much lower price point. Both types of tubs have been produced with a rather labour intensive pre-preg carbon approach.
I just wish they would reveal the LB already.....enough if the drama. I’m in a pretty decent spot (so I believe), being in the batter’s box for the F8 Spider but not yet having been called to the plate. I have no idea when I’ll get the call, but if the LB makes its debut before then and it looks like a winner, I won’t have a problem making the swap and waiting a bit longer if need be. Heck, it’s not like I’m in the desert without water. The 458 and soon to be Huracan STO are drama enough, and what appeals to me about the F8 is the refined, toned-down driving experience while still having that special Ferrari feel. Say what you will about it, I think it’s an awesome car. I made a deal with myself the F8 would be my last mid engine - it’s been a great run with some real winners along the way. And I fully agree that production numbers aside, the 458 will go down as a flash of genius that only Ferrari could have pulled off. I hope they do it again with their first hybrid.
Huracan have carbon-alu structure, and 488 better at every aspect. Avent and SLR have carbon tubes, and they heavy on weights, and in feelings. Interesting, how would working carbon tube with normal interior width and without that crazy sills. (On LaFerrari they are smaller, than on 570s) PS I understand, that Macs are great cars Read it in every thread about Ferrari many times )
Nice line up except the SF90 becomes the top Ferrari over the front engine. The replacement 812 at best will have the same engine / hybrid as the SF90 . No 12.
Not for a front engine 812 replacement. Ferrari has already commented that the SF90 will be the Top regular Ferrari. At over 1.1 Million over here there is no chance that the 812 replacement will be dearer. If it was to be it will make all the second hand 500 K 812's look like a bargain.
Might be a rear-mid, instead of a front-mid (like the 812). Does that matter though? It will still be a N/A V12, hybrid or not.
A cramped footwell is a non-starter for me. Lots of great cars have them. I don't have the hip/knee/ankle geometry to make them work without a lot of discomfort.
Give it some miles before doing so, it definitely gets better with time. Also the stock exhaust will get more aggressive if you drive it harder. Releasing the throttle or downshifting you get lots of good noises. My wife was driving behind me the other day and told me it was insanely loud which I dont get completely in the cabin.
That's my understanding too. V12 @ 8500rpms All the dealers believe it will be an hybrid V8, but I'm betting on the V12 for the Purosangue. You can quote me on this.
Agreed. But let's hope they do some magic. I've test drove the Urus and I really disliked it. Super big, cheap Audi-like interior, fake sound coming through the speakers (that was shocking), bland steering... I would take a Macan any timer over an Urus. The Urus feels like a Q7 with a Lambo engine. On the contrary, I'm hoping the FUV to be be something like a GTC4Lusso that's been made a bit higher. Also, I'd like the FUV to be more on the smallish side (for example like the Macan), because driving dynamics can never be good for a huge truck. The Urus is really too long and too wide. But I'm afraid that most people shopping for a SUV want a huge, heavy, tall truck. But then the Macan is one of the best sellers in the Porsche catalogue, and IMO there's no SUV with better driving dynamics. Let's see and let's hope.
I think the Urus is just right size wise. Whats the point of an SUV if you cant comfortably fit 4 people? Personally I think they should have just stuck with the Lusso style and made a more aggressive version and one for comfort or sport.
