For sale is my lovely 1985 308 GTSi Quatrovalvole in the rare Prugna color. Only 250 were made in the Prugna (plum) color for the US market and according to the FChat forum for the 308s only 12- 16 believed to exist in the US at this point. I purchased this car about 1.5 years ago and it came with a full engine out service and all new belts and tensioners. Once I purchased the vehicle, I had the radiator boiled and cleaned, changed all the hoses for the cooling system. upgraded to Birdman's new fuse box and replaced the suspension to a QA1 fully adjustable suspension. this allows you to go to the track and lower your car for a few laps and then raise back up to drive it home. I'm not a track person and personally like it the way it shows in the photos, 3/4'' lowered and in a racing stance. The old suspension is also saved in case one decides to switch back for originality but the drive is fantastic with the new suspension. Vehicle also meets California emission standards and will come with a CA smog certificate. I have the pre purchase inspection that I had done on it 18 months ago but you are more than welcome to your own inspection of course. I even did a car fax on it and it came out clean. no stories, no issues.... this one is not your garage queen, although it looks like it, with 73K miles on it. if you follow Ferraris and Ferrari chat, you know that the ones that have been used don't break down, they were meant to be DRIVEN! I have put on about 3K miles on it by driving it all over Southern California and even a trip to Monterey. I love the car but have been kicked out of my inside garage space and the public storage is killing my vibes and my wallet. All decals are magnetic or removable without any paint damage. it's an attention-getter amongst the sea of red Ferraris at all the car events. The maintenance on these 308s are very reasonable as compared to other models and they are a ton of fun to drive with the top down. let me know if you have any other questions and I will be happy to share any information that I have. cheers.. This video is from Rides of the Rockies covering the exact same car. Funny thing is Marc has already done or waiting to do the upgrades that have been done on mine. A must see. I will post a video of mine soon.
I don't usually like tan interiors, but with the black carpets, this car is actually quite stunning. Gorgeous. Someone will get a very special car.
Many many years ago I met and got to see JazzyJay's prugna 308. It was on display at the Hartford Concorso. Looked stunning in person. No idea if this is the same car but looks equally stunning!
His is an ‘84; one year older than mine but very nice. These 308s are turning 40 in 2-3 years which gives them the “classic car” title, which in turn will bump them over and above the 100K mark. Some of this appreciation will come even sooner particularly with the more rare colors.
Here is a short video of me leaving a car-meet on May 22nd at the beach. A friend took the video, so, please excuse the videography. I’ve had so much request for a video and have not been able to arrange a trip to my storage facility. Thanks for looking.
That's looks like Crystal Cove shopping center on PCH. Irvine Co. Let C & C gathering back on Saturday now? I haven't heard anything yet. Can someone confirm?
Cars and Coffee is canceled there; we just have impromptu car meets there and if the size of the group is not large, they don't mind it. how ever the official gathering is no longer ...
This is stunning, I hadn’t previously considered a 308 in my hunt for a 355 but it’s really making me second guess and start researching this model to better know what to look for.
355 drives and sounds better 308 is way sexier and cheaper to run. Its just kind of down to usecase and what resonates with you. Not like an FCar is ever realy a logical purchase anyways
The 308 has a more visceral and engaging drive and is more "nany-free" than than the newer models which makes it so attractive to the purists.
I dont think 355 has a single nanny other than abs. Still not quite a fair comparison though seeing as a decent manual 355 is going to run way more than a 308 to buy. Either way though, its just about what lights your fire. For me that just so happens to be 308 >>>>>>> 355 (cause holy hell are they pretty) ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Mike, I wish I could! You know about my space issues. Having to park them where access is not convenient results in long spans of time without driving them. These beautiful cars deserve better than that. I grew up adoring these 308s and I will have another one once I resolve my space issue. They are just too much fun to drive and be seen in...
