Hi all, I purchased my 1986 3.2 Cab’ in 2016 with 43 miles. During 2017 I had the car fully recommissioned. Car being verified as previously ‘untouched’. However, a seized rear electric window motor was omitted. In 2019 I had the motor replaced and the fuel metering unit serviced. The replacement window motor allowed the roof to be dropped, for we believe, the first time it’s 33yrs. The car now has 46 miles as I can’t bring myself to drive it.

Wow, amazing car Stocky! I own an 89 Mondial T cab red tan that I acquired in Jan 2020 with 543 original miles. Had it all properly sorted and since then have driven it for several hundred miles already. The car sounds and runs better seemingly every time I drive it. I felt it deserved to finally be driven but still well cared for and it's been fun. Great to see your car and what must be the lowest mileage Mondial in existence. Thought I may have been the lowest:) Love that red carpet! Enjoy it!

I think I would mothball it and buy another to drive. This car is too special. I can only be new once.
    Good for you!

Maybe the window motor will still be covered under warranty? ;)

What a find. Post more pictures of the engine bay, it will be a great template for other's restorations. New tires I presume?

You may as well drive and enjoy it. Many components will deteriorate with age not use, eventually it will not be usable if it sits forever. It will likely still be a very low milage example with modest use for another 10 years.

Threads like this should be banned as they fuel the misapprehension that these cars cannot be driven

.. matter of taste perhaps ? Mine is LHD but spent it's life in Japan before I got it. I was told that over there drivers of exclusive imports tend to prefer LHD to show it's an import and because (certain part of ..) the drivers prefer to sit closer to the curb in order to be seen in it.

Incredible car you've got. I agree with both opinions: Either conserve it and trailer to Concours d'Elegance where you'd make a good chance to be honoured (and buy another next to it to drive)
Or enjoy this car yourself and get that grin that only you know about why...
