I watch the Normal Guy Supercar youtube channel and he said he has helped 100's of clients with their Ferrari purchase transactions as a consultant. Not as a PPI inspector or a broker, but as an overwatch for a fee. I think it's a good idea.

How far does your mechanic travel to do a PPI? I thought PPI's were always done by someone local who has a shop, lift and tools onsite.

Please educate me O1Sharken-obi. I am just a rookie.

I won’t comment on you tuber claims.....people can say whatever they want.....they don’t use the term click bait for nothing.

My mechanic will go anywhere. But the cost escalations mean you should find a local with a good reputation whenever possible. You’re paying for air travel, rental car, meals, hotel room, and the inspection. And if the seller doesn’t have a lift available, the mechanic will need to rent some lift time.

For an F40, yeah I’d fly in a specialist.....for a 360 spider not so much.

This. Every 15+ year old Ferrari I have purchased has required a near 5 figure bill almost immediately. Welcome to the club. I never pushed around blame, I fixed and serviced the car. This isn't a new Porsche. Respectfully, welcome to buying a used Italian car. Like any used car, you need to go look at it. At any dealer. I am glad to hear that your car is sorted now but beware, it will break again. Prepare for that, it will happen but it is worth the headache for us owners. The experience the car and brand gives you will be well worth it. If not, 100% sell because it is a labor of love and not for the faint of heart.

Interesting. I am just a first time buyer sharing my experience. I never claimed otherwise.

Clearly there are a fair share of naysayers, sympathizers with my ferrari videos, and that is OK with me. I would say it's about 50/50. I am an eternal optimist and I choose share my story with my tiny audience so at least one person can learn from my rookie mistakes (that are incredibly obvious to you veteran owners on here).

I do appreciate your feedback and infinite sarcasm (wisdom). Keep it coming. And, oh yeah, be sure to subscribe to my channel for updates!

You would have a lot more credibility and get more sympathy if you utilized FerrariChat for pre-purchase information or used the 360/430 Forum to access the knowledge base available here to get your car sorted. That isn't how you played your hand.

You bought a 19-year-old car, sight unseen in as-is condition, from a reputable dealer that is 2400 miles away. You had "issues," so you go after the dealer by resurrecting an old thread to state your case. You also had "issues" with the transport company. You seem to have a lot of "issues."

Owning an older Ferrari will prove to be a negative experience if you keep playing the victim card. Caveat Emptor.

    Keep pitching your YouTube channel.

You mean like you subscribed here? Just because you have no audience doesn't mean this hasn't seemingly turned into a some sort of commercial angle by using the eyes of FChat to gain views. Hidden of course behind "community service".

What you need is something interesting. This story is a joke. I didn't watch your videos so I can't comment on production value. Paid sponsor is probably in order though.

I would really like to see the receipt for this work. I wonder how much homeslice paid for per "coil."

Some pre-purchase questions in the 360/430 Forum would have been time well spent. Once the car arrived, the brain trust probably could have helped sort out most of the misfire issues.

Homeslice seems to have time to make videos and post on FChat now. He should post his VIN since he is " just a first time buyer sharing his experience."

Catching up on the past couple of pages...

Ok rookie...first off you need better BS radar. That guy shouldn't be let near ANY car let alone supercars.

How many have you bought? I'm not even 5 figures in on a 348 that I bought broken.

    This.

Just not here, you'll get banned unless you pay up.

I have read all of your responses and thank you for your participation and advice. Ferrari owners and prospective owners will be reading this thread years down the road. I know that I found this thread 2 years too late. Lol. The good news for my car is that it's "currently sorted" and has not had any check engine light for the last 4 outings. It had a mysterious emissions check engine light, which I cleared, then it hasn't come back. YAY. The car is a lot of fun to drive. I am considering straight piping the car as it seems not loud enough with the tubi exhaust.

Has anybody done this to their 360 and have a video to share?

In regards to joining the forum before purchasing the car, I joined the forum to lookup a post on the best driving roads in the bay area. I didn't really read any other threads or make any posts until recently.

All the things I could have done, should have done. yeah, got it. Thanks.
