360 Straight Piped Exhaust Sound too LOUD for street?

I currently have a tubi exhaust and feel the noise is not enough.

Do any of you currently have a car that has retained the cats and straight pipes?

    Any other suggestions?

If there is an old thread, please redirect me.

    Thanks,

Budget way would be a 430 muffler and modified 430 tips. When the valves open it bypass the muffler and gives a CS bark and around town nice and quiet. I'm running a full CS exhaust with high flow cats and its absolutely perfect. I had a capristo before and didn't care for the lower end sound.

By straight pipes I assume that is the same as test pipes which delete the cats. I have test pipes with a Tubi and yes, it is very loud. Too loud at low rpms and big drone between 2500 and 2900 rpms which is roughly 60mph. Have been considering offering a swap with someone for a less loud, higher pitch muffler. Had a Tubi with punched-out cats on a TR and it sounded fantastic without the "booming" sound and drone. But, that car is now gone.

They are 360cs style from r tuned. Need them when you use 360cs or 430 maf sensors as I am running stage 2 firmware from AV engering.

I'm running Fabspeed headers, no cats, and a Nouvalari exhaust. Sounds awesome, it pretty loud but not too loud inside the car, no droning either.

You are in norcal so CA smog compliant correct? I would love to hear an audio/video clip. Can you post one or send me a link in a conversation?

How did you source a CS Exhaust? Aren't those hard to find.

What are all of the parts required for your CS Exhaust setup on a 360?
    1. Air Box from R Tuned
    2. AV Engineering Stage 2 Firmware
    3. CS OEM Exhaust and CS tips or stock tips?
    4. High flow cats
    5. Anything else?

There is one on ebay you 9500. That guy is triping but you can modify the 430 tips and use a 430 muffler. You don't need the tune or any of that for the exhaust but it will truly help in the end result

Loud but terrible video. Its echoing of the wall so no real sound off that.

I have test-pipes and Capristo Lvl 3. I still have the original headers, I will switch them to aftermarket one day. People tell me my car is crazy loud but I do not find the sound volume that bad, it is not nearly as obnoxious as all the straight pipe Corvette, Mustangs, or loud burble tune JMD Cars. My car is unbelievably sounding over 6rpm, the switch in volume from the deep growl to the high pitch scream is always an experience. I would dump the cats and run straight pipes for the performance increase and the drastic drop in engine temps. I ended up getting the CS TCU from Eric, along with the tune from Mase (no cel) and now my car is about as fast as an 04 Gallardo, and is much faster than by buddies 08 LS3 Vette and SL 55amg. There is a very loud Howling drone between 2500-3100 RPM and the car has lots of pops between 3k-4k, but I love the sound so it is not an issue.

They don’t even sound that good, there’s essentially no real tone to the exhaust and it’s just loud. At that point you’re better off just getting a bypass exhaust like a Capristo twin sound, Basically makes the same sound. The 360 can be made to sound so many different ways, I never understand why so many people up for such a rudimentary tone that really belongs on something like a Mustang....

Diablo- don’t tell that to the legions cs fanboys!! Anything associated w cs is coveted…. And $

you make a good point about the bypass pipe route being simple. You can try to recreate the cs muff setup w the modified 430 muffler and tips. My buddy has this and sounds good.

I just took my cs muffler and tips off this winter as I got tired of the noise… while glorious while getting frisky…, the cold start just didn’t make for good neighbor relations.

I was running aftermarket headers (catless headers)
    Plus 200 cel cat pipes
    And the cs muff tips.

I found the loud by pass opened too early w stock modena tune…, at low rpm to my ears the bypass is not the nice f1 tone…. But a burble…. Not refined.

so now I run the stock muff w the remote control forza ex valve controller w valves open 99% of the time. Great sound w the headers and hi flow cats.
I don’t get the crazy f1 underpass flyby tone but In all other instance great tone.

Also— I never want my car to be louder than it is fast….,,, At only 400hp I prefer not to false advertise :). I’ll leave that to the dodge Chevy Ford kids.
