What areas, if any, should I check carefully on a 2016 488 coupe, 7500 miles? Search function didn’t pull up many issues, outside of battery longevity and tender maintenance. Purchasing from a Ferrari dealer.

Thanks in advance for any insights...

Ferrari dealer should be able to give you the whole history of the car, Owners and all repairs and recalls.

Insist on a new battery , you can thank me latter.

Ild push to get power warrantee added at their cost.

LOOK UNDER the car and look for scrapes even if it has a lift.

Get a two year bumper-to-bumper, unlimited-mileage, factory warranty.

Have them put a paint meter on all of the panels as well.

I'll echo: get a fresh battery -- not sure how you'd verify it's actually happened, but the most complex looking check engine lights can simply come from voltage being off on the battery.

Thanks, everyone, for the suggestions. I’ll add, for future reference, tire age... I did find a 488, and it was still on the original MPSS rubber. Which is not surprising, given many exotics see far fewer miles each year. For a Jan 2016 production car, that’s (IMO) too old for a performance tire, and I requested replacement by the selling dealership.

We’ll see what they say about the battery condition when it goes through the CPO certification.
