Just curious if any one here is still ordering an f8 ahead of the announcement for the v6 supposedly this month? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
To be honest, I'm confident the new one will be better in every measurable way, and if I were buying a race car I would go for the latest because it doesn't matter what it looks like or sounds like if absolute speed and endurance is your requirement. I'm still mourning the fact that you can't get a rear/mid engine V12 Ferrari
Imagine a modern Testarossa... say 4.8L revving to 10krpm, dual clutch transmission, HUD, carbon brakes and wheels...
Would be nice but I love my 1990 as Is I’m not in love with non manual cars as much Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I had a 2020 F8 in the shop today. Hunting for a noise the dealer couldn't find. Anyway. I was less then impressed. In fact I was quite disappointed with it. Sure..it was fast, look great..but dam it it has zero soul. Zero engagement. Dare I say it's like driving a fast Toyota Camry? The day beforeI drove a 458 Speciale..2014 car..wow. now that indeed was a Ferrari. The F8..nope. to my eye it is not worthy of the name. I figured folks would disagree, as it is a big investment. But having worked with these cars for almost 25 years..I do know what a Ferrari was..vs the corporate stuff they throw on the market today. The F8..although a great performer..has zero soul. I stand by my Camery comment.
I respect your right to express your opinion my friend. I just couldn’t disagree with you more. Not sure what criteria is needed for a Ferrari to have a “soul”. The F8: Esthetically beautiful Great performance Incredibly comfortable Infinitely able to be individualized. Great DNA in its inception and design Last V8 Granted sound is not as great as a 458 but that can be addressed. Personally I prefer the sound as is. Other than that I can’t fathom what you are looking for. I’ve never seen a Camry that made me wet myself.
I’m still waiting on mine… Yes, the F8 has less soul than a Speciale but I wouldn’t say it is completely soul-less. In fact, with an exhaust upgrade and perhaps harder springs, I think you could gain back quite a bit of feel with the F8! Calling it a Camry is too far removed…
Can we please stop using that term “soul”? A Speciale is a Speciale it is setup more aggressively purposely. Not having a track setup or a loud exhaust does not condemn a Ferrari to being a fast Camry.
For the record, I’m on the side of the F8. I personally love it and I’m still waiting for mine to be delivered. Soul is too hard to define - agreed. Also for the record, I do own a Speciale and still love and am waiting for the F8S.
The F8 feels too controlled. Almost as if you have your wife watching over your every move..if that makes any sense what so ever. The car is.. as I said, much to corporate..too safe..too much by the book rather then the raw feel and slight danger Ferrari built thier storied history on. And the turbos do not help either. Lovely car for the average joe. But definatly not for the true enthusiast.
There’s a car for every occasion. When I feel like almost dying, I’ll choose to drive something else. But when I really wanna go fast on the streets and I mean really really fast, I think the F8 and the way it is setup would be my choice to help keep me alive!!
I will agree with your statement. It does do speed really really well. But just because it is fast, does not mean it's a drivers car.
My FF sounds great, but not much soul either. It’s the New stuff for u. All of them ...maybe the pista, 600lt,765lt..stuff like that might meet ur definition... spéciale is already another era. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
