It's a shame Ferrari isn't in the mix for the podium.

    They certainly have the drivers.

The Macs were super strong. Guessing this circuit does not do Ferrari any favors, surprised Charles finished so far down.

Beautiful race from the top four, well done Mac, smart race for Astons. Racer of the day split between Max and Lewis.
    Magnifique!

I know that Ferrari said they're not developing the car any longer, but this performance was truly pitiful. 2022 is a LONG way off.

Yep. High speed corners their weakness.

Lec did one extra stop, would have finished 12th or 13th, but they tried to do something. In the end there wasn't any salvaging of points for Ferrari in this race.

Not much commentary about the Ferraris today, any specific reason for the poor performance?

I think Horner should be fired… and hired by Ferrari, LOL.

It wasn't the pace of the car, Ferrari matched others in midfield when they had tire life; but they ate them SO quick. Not the first time this has happened, and I don't think there is any magic solution to it.

    Exactly, it was a thriller!

I don’t like the guy, but you have to admire Lewis’ tyre management…

They were expecting to kill their tires and so it was. Probably due to having to take wing out to maintain speed on the straights.

Better than Bottas for sure but in Bottas’ defence they stopped him 2 laps earlier than HAM.

A great thrilling race, rare at Ricard and all 20 cars finished, not common....

It could be worse. They could be like Williams and Haas and have problems with high-speeds AND corners.

Paul Ricard finally delivers....what a great race, very strategic. Congrats to Max on the win, Really thought RBR ****ed it with their first stop a lap later than they should, completely surprised that they managed to overtake Lewis. Surely that must've been a poor inlap for Lewis? Stop was quickest of the 3 and Merc already had a full lap of data...

    Great drive from Perez.

Full marks to Lewis as well for keeping the tyres alive. Not easy.

What happened to Ferrari? I guess very hard tyre use...

Nice work from both Aston guys.

This race has been very revealing. Since Spain Red Bull has worked on some upgrades and that car is working much better on tracks like this now. Merc holds a bit of an advantage on the medium tyre, Hard tyre they seem about equal (though RBR probably uses it harder still). Excellent stuff for the championship all-round. Merc has a genuine challenger now I think.
