It's a video, not a real car and the sound is even out of synchronization.

    Sigh ... :(

Well I guess that will make my Bora all that much more valuable as it truly will become THE very last mid engined V8 GT car that Maserati ever built.
Too bad they didn't put the big turbo Alfa engine in it instead. No chance of that now. The entire architecture of this car is aimed at being electric. That's really the only way they can pull this off if they even do.

I wonder if this car will share the platform with the new Alfa Romeo GTV...

Webster did not make a firm commitment on the Alfieri saying the architecture could take electric and IC hybrid. I bet they make and IC version. I don't mind electric motors combined with an IC motor(preferably normally aspirated). We will have to wait and see(5 years :) ).

When they first introduced the Alfieri concept they said it would be selling in 2018. I remember being so excited back then and here we are, it's 2018 and now it's 2021 or 2022 or whenever they're saying. I just hope they go through with it.

I really have zero confidence that Maserati will build this car. Let’s revisit in 5 years...

Would love to see it like the original concept. I don’t think the company will get away from the Ghibli and Levante. I don’t think the bean counters there will allow the indulgence.

Yes it shocked me as well. I wasn't in Monterey that year so I've never seen the car in the flesh,

I'm sure I figured it out at some point, but what has happened with the Alfieri? Was it the Roma or nothing ever came of it or still in the works?

Is the Roma the Alfieri, yea pretty much although Ferrari would never admit to it, just like California owners are in denial that their car was actually originally supposed to be the replacement for the Maserati GranSoprt, then Marchionne moved control of Maserati from Ferrari back to Fiat Auto and paired it with Alfa and used a shortened QP platform to create the GranTurismo.

there’s been a bit of animosity between Ferrari and Maserati the last few years that is inside baseball stuff. It’s just a coincidence that Ferrari produced the Roma while Maserati was working on the MC20 and Ferrari then brings out their own TT V6 midengine with a lot more power than Maserati’s.

The Alfieri is still owned by the factory in Modena/Turin.

I was there and I saw a chap kneeing in front of it, screaming "Where can I get it?". Maserati clearly missed (again...) the beat to produce a great car!

As long as Maserati is not 100% indipendent from the FIAT Group (etc.) no car coming from Modena will ever match any Ferrari in power...

Why do you say the Roma is the Alfieri? It's a different drivetrain on a different platform.

The entire concept was highjacked by Ferrari.

Uh huh ... People begin forming their impression of a new car by how it looks. They look a LOT alike and have a very similar size and configuration. The Alfieri came first. QED.

The Alfieri was a Concept car built on a GranTurismo chassis using it’s engine. The production version was supposed to be on the Giorgio platform using variations of the Ferrari produced TT V6 & V8s.
