i think with just a few touches would be even better, like front lights i wish they are similar to 250lm's or back light if they are rounded,
    not a fan of visor,
also side mirrors, i mean, they use to be pure art, now seams too detached from the car.

I totally disagree the F8 is beautiful and will continue to be beautiful 50 years from now.

I guess no one will agree. I find them both beautiful. Just wish 296 was a bit more aggressive looking but maybe that help with aging.

I agree with you on the mirrors. Hard to believe they got past the 'sketch' phase.

I have found (for me) that the beauty of the 296 has increased upon inspection over the last few days. The design language is cohesive and has a more elongated/low look relative to the 458/488/F8, especially when considering it as part of the SF90 design family. Really growing to love the look and quite excited. It's starting to look like the future vs the previous generation of staple mid-engine F cars.

I don't think the 296 is a bad looking car but it hasn't created an immediate feeling of want the same way the 812 SF, Pista and F8 did the instant they were revealed. Perhaps I just prefer more aggressive designs with sharper bodywork. I find the 296 to be softer, more feminine (as I do with the Roma) although the Roma was much more impressive in the flesh than in photos. It's quite likely the 296 will be also.

I wouldn’t say the front of the 458 is ugly but I do agree from the front it is difficult to distinguish it from the C7. Here in Naples there are a lot of those cars and as one is approaching from the distance I can’t tell the difference until they are almost beside me.

I will say the 458 is beginning to show its age. I had not seen one up close since I sold mine in 2015 so when I did see one it surprised me how the newer cars make it pale in comparison.

100% agree. 296 is a good looking car, but just didn't tug at me like the Pista, F8, and 812 did.

Id say 296 might be more modern and classic at the same time. I’m not sure how rhe more aggressive designs of a F8 and pista will age

Fair comment. I think cars like the Speciale have aged better than a regular 458 in part because of its more aggressive styling - particularly the front bonnet ridge/nostrils and sculpted bumpers. The same way a 675LT has aged better than the base 650S, in my opinion.

To me, these are extroverted cars that benefit from having avant garde design elements that create a lasting impression. The S duct on the Pista is one such element. Tail lights/rear end of the F8 is another.

I’m the furthest thing from a designer but I can’t help but feel there may have been missed opportunities on both the SF90 and 296 to create a stronger, more stylized front end (without going overboard).

Respectfully my friend, each to their own.

I don’t like aggressive designs much.
The necessary design of Modern racing cars is brilliant, for racing cars.
I do like the design of feminine things, you know, women, curves, 250 SWBs, Spitfires, things like that.
    What was it?
Walk softly and carry a big stick.
And 800 bhp is a big stick.
I am developing huge want for this car.
    230 k GBP, 25 K deposit, 2023 delivery is what I am being told.

Agree with the analysis; I mentioned this earlier, but the front end refresh is such an "easy button" for them, that they'd be foolish not to start simple and then charge us for a refresh or limited editions with more aggressive fronts (S duct redux?) in 24 months.

I had a 2013 458 Spider and absolutely loved it. But since getting my F8 it is much more exotic looking than the 458. Doesn’t mean the 458 isn’t still beautiful just not exotic enough compared to the F8. The updated interior and extra 140hp doesn’t hurt either.

I cannot tell you how many times a C7 comes the other way and my passenger blurts out " Ferrari."

I believe the 458 will always be one of the most beautiful cars from Ferrari regardless of age.

I agree the 296 design incorporates the classic elements and modern design cues, but just didn't instill the I gotta have it emotions like the Pista did for me. When the Pista got revealed, I just knew I had to have one. Good news is styling is subjective. Cheers!

I would imagine the shape of the mirrors and their stacks are defined by the need to channel the outwash from the windshield to the rear of the car and the intercooler inlets more specifically.

$400k for a 6-cylinder is ridiculous. Will have to add 6 more cylinders, 3-layer paint and a bunch of options for that price.

Has anyone ordered from their dealer and had it show up in their MyFerrari app yet? Sounds like dealer systems opened up today for ordering?
