I’ve read several reports indicating where the first year of allocations have been sold. If Ferrari is only allocating less than a car/month then I feel those reports are misrepresenting actual demand for the car..

May be right. My dealer is on the smaller side. Think many of the dealers on the coasts will get far more than 10 for year 1.

And keep in mind a deposit is just a deposit. Meaningless until you get allocation and put another chuck of money down (that is not refundable). My guess is a decent amount get refunded when they finally have to sign to build. Regardless, they will sell a lot of these........

Despite all the talk of the 250 LM being the inspiration for the 296 GTB, it’s pretty clear the inspiration was—inevitably, I think, because of its V6–the 206/246 GTB, right down the model naming convention.

Stylistically, apart from the rounded door tuck-under, the flying buttresses and the Kamm tail, the most obvious features of the Dino that influenced the new Dino ;) are the fender humps and the door crease, albeit reimagined and modernized:

This is all very true. I would just substitute "those who can’t accept a hybrid" with that "those who won't choose hybrid". There are millions of cars out there and still to be made that are not hybrid from which to choose from.

Talk to owners :) Especially the ones that needed to replace the hybrid battery at their cost.

Thank you. I will check. But what appears to be the case is that they say it’s refundable until it goes into the Wait status. But the local dealer -for example -puts it in wait mode automatically as soon as the deposit goes in LOL.

Maybe but that was 7 years ago, by the time the first ones arrive will be 8 with a 3 year warranty. I don’t think I’ll keep it more than 2

I think it’s a never ending story because already since the 458 most of those cars are over engineered to make u feel u are a good driver. The pops? Not u! Perfect downshift ? Not u.
U have to go back to a manual 430 to truly show ur drivers skills imo.
It’s all about performance and accessibility

If your rotating cars you wont be impacted . However the new Ferrari norm is less numbers more models.

I keep my classics because they are true Ferraris, I just experience the new stuff for modern convenience and daily usability. Hopefully I will like this more than the ff which I found good but far from life changing ;)

Look again. The intake and front fenders may recall the Dino, however it is the curvature of the rear fender, and the slight upsweep resulting in a ducktail and the flying buttresses that is truly 250 LM influenced. Remember that the LM came before the 246, and people are also comparing the 296 to the look of the 2005 Ford GT, due to the rear fenders. This is due to the fact that the prototypes had a similar look back thing, like the top classes in Le Mans do today. For the flying buttress, look at how similar the 296’s is to the 250 LM’s extended one.

They referred to it in the introductory videos as a tea-tray, derived from F1 term for the under-nose splitter.
