That is amazing!! Looks even better and I think when I can see it physically in front of me it will be even better still. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
This car is beautiful. Frank is a bit of an old fuddy duddy but likes the car anyway. Don't agree with his tailight suggestion at all but Frank thinks every Ferrari should look like an F430 -- because he designed it.
Well... the 250 LM came out before the Dino which inspired the Dino. The 250LM started the design language that they all use. I could put the 360 Modena in this and you could say the same thing.
Do we know when the first journalist review is schedule to happen? Not that it’s any indication but would be exciting to have more footage Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Other than his front brake duct change, much prefer Franks’s design. He has picked up everything I don’t like about it, the rear lights exhaust and canopy design. Will see the car in the flesh on Thursday, and will judge then but at the moment it’s the 1st Ferrari design that I’m going off the more I see it… can’t put my finger on it.
Some of his comments (like the black roof) I'm sure is an option you can order for the car. Ferrari loves expensive options. My biggest issue is his taillights. This isn't 2005 anymore. We don't need rocket jets coming out the back. The 296's sunglasses are really cool and very contemporary.
He also designed the P1, which still to this day looks like an alien spacecraft. Even the Sketch Monkey had an issue with the rear lights and put round ones on his redesign.
I like what Frank Stephenson-Santos did with the side windows. I've never liked those fake black panels that everybody is using now. BTW, he used them too in the P1.
I actually am starting to really love the design, gorgeous hips on the rear and the engine cover area with roof like is really growing on me. I think its stunning. The only part of the car I dislike are the square tail lights. Reminds me of a GM product. I also think the sound for a V6 sounds better than the F8 from what I heard. And I am more partial to a V8 but in the F8 it sounds awful.....they are marketing this as a baby V12 in the sound aspect on the Italian motor channels.
Agreed. And I really don’t know how much of the 430 he designed as although he was design director at Ferrari this was still a Pininfarina design. Also, if you see his video on the 430 design, the end result looks nothing like a 430 and I wonder how this guy “designed” car cars for a living.
Yeah the fake windows are a design cop out. I was expecting this car to have a solid B-C pillar (like, for example, the 246 GTS) with some styling flourish, like the 812 GTS. At least on the 296 the fake window triangle is relatively small and used mostly to align the “window” opening aft edge with the inlet scoop angle.
Ferrari and Pininfarina in their day always mixed things up and tried to innovate at every design change. What some of these critics are proposing is to go back to the 458. Ferrari have moved on. I too like the taillights and how cleanly they executed them. It’s different to but just as innovative as what they did on the Roma. But then I’m partial to the two trapezoids conjoined at the top as I had proposed something like this for the SF90: Image Unavailable, Please Login
