The discussion has morphed from cars into a contest for who holds the higher moral ground?? Oh boy some of you guys seriously need to lighten up and live a little, stop pretending to have fun, and actually have fun while you can. Plenty of time to play adult when you're in the ground.

Now where were we again? Can anyone remember what the topic was?:D

PS And what happened to Jcmd? Has he shot his bolt and gone for good or is his threat of packing up his bat and ball just another one of his teases? Oh sorry...looks like he's back already.....couldn't help himself lol.

No i'd say plenty of class from those correctly labeling your condition. Respect is gained, not to be expected as a given, especially given the circumstances and your past performances. Hardly classy.

This must be the sort of car that many on here have been waiting for? I’ve actually seen it (not going to say how) but it looks good in the flesh. It’s lightweight (not necessarily by Lotus standards but by competitor standards), decent quality and appearance, simple to understand and will drive great. It has hydraulic steering so should feel peppy and pure. At £60k they should sell a lot of these. Except they won’t produce a lot because they are concentrating on bigger fish (electric stuff). This could be a good news car, I predict it will receive the kind of rapturous reaction given to the Alpine a couple of years ago. It might deserve it too.

Now that I’ve seen the 296 in a few Instagram videos taken by private party I am liking the looks more and more. The Ferrari release video look CGI to me sort of odd and fake. The iPhone videos I’ve seen look more real and better.

I’m trying to get use to the squarish Camaro tail lights on the 296 and SF90.

I really wonder since Ferrari says the 296 is smaller that if driver leg and head room is less than the 488/F8?

    Good question mdrums!

Oddly no SF90 owners have reported whether the headroom has improved at all or, if the general ergonomic of the cabin has improved in the right areas to provide a better seating position and improved space for those 6' or taller. This is key information for the 296 as well, and i'm very surprised that there was nothing mentioned in the press conference given the ergonomic of the previous cars hasn't been that great.

As it stands the headroom in the 488 body is pretty average even for a person of 6' in height let alone someone taller and that's with the racing seats. For example in my Pista its quite uncomfortable with a helmet on. If I were taller I don't know how I would physically be able to drive the car on track as I already have put the seat in the max recline position and my helmet is still noticeably touching the roof - i'm probably putting a wear mark in the hoodlining! I'm also having to sit with my ass forward in the swab as well which is far from desirable. I tolerate it but that's all i'm doing - trying to put up with it - and another reason why I much prefer to track the Rs's which don't have any of these issues.

In 488 the width of the cabin is fine and there is some feeling that the space behind the seats is aiding in the general feel of spaciousness but I understand the room behind the seats in 296 is gone now like SF90 which looks too short on space inside for my liking.

You would expect that in whole new body that Ferrari would have at the very least addressed this height issue (inside the cabin) along with the correcting the previous misgivings associated to the 488's cabin shortfalls.

Do you have the race seats, and do you have the seat lifter?

Yep. I never use the lifter - always in lowest setting and I did the exercise a while back where I measured the swab height between a car without the lifter and they are both exactly the same, so there is no advantage in getting rid of the lifter. I mainly got the lifter for if ever my wife wants to have a little play in the car as shes sub 5'5.

Ah ok, yeah the guys here that service the Challenge cars for the teams always told me that the lifter adds a little height to the seats. I've never had a lifter in any of the cars I've had, so I never had a chance to confirm.

The challenge is different in that area but I personally made it a point to check the height out knowing I was already close to the headroom limit even without a helmet. I took time doing the measure so I know there is no difference so if the challenge guys say that then they are wrong from what I've measured. Believe me if I could have picked up even a few mm's without the lifter I would have taken the extra mm's over the lifter. Not as if I personally use the lifter anyway iykwim. We have 2 guys in our group with challenges and from what I can see the seating allows a better position overall.

SF90 feels similar/bigger inside compared to 488/F8 around the seating area. The front part of the cabin is bigger and seems longer. I’m around 6 feet and have no issues despite the car being noticeably lower than the F8. It feels a larger car from inside.

Someone asked why the V6 hate. Fair enough. Its perfectly acceptable to have a 2.99l , V6 turbo, electric hybrid powertrain ---- In a Camry. :D

The answer is an F12 to go with the Pista. Have to own at least one beautiful PF NA V12.

Thanks but headroom/height was the key question. Any improvement? If so how much? Using you Pista as a direct comparison.

    Indeed!

Just think, I could give commentary on the utterly amazing 765 however, the result of that would be your cognitive dissonance would spike up and I don't want to be held responsible for your condition worsening.:)

The way it stands you already have one foot firmly placed in the loony bin and the other on a banana skin! So it's a delicate situation one could fairly say.:D

I spare room behind the sets 488/pista is gone on the SF90 because of the battery.

The car that was at Melbourne the carbon fiber behind the seat and the fire wall had been hit a few times and cracks on both parts :(

I think it’s better than the Pista (though our Pista is a Spider), marginally though. There is an electric lift button on the new racing seats (which are also very good, comfortable and seem to have a little more lateral support then the Pista ones). I only discovered it was there last night so found another cm or so. I just about fit in the Speciale without my helmet fouling the roof. I’ll try it with the SF90 when I get a moment and check the clearance to compare.

Two huge pieces of carbon facing each other, I might think about putting some ppf on there…

Im 6’2 85kg, there is more headroom and interior space than in my F8 Spider. I have seat lifter in both and never used them, goes to the lowest setting and stays there.

As my Aussie neighbor says of you: YOU are carrying on like a pork chop. And since you agree you are the fictional horse.. then you produce a lot of horse manure. Smelly.

Ferrari makes the cars you desire (eventually). He is also waiting on his Huracan STO delivery. SF90 vs Aventador replacement in this price point ?

Jcmd you really need to put it to bed and stop derailing the thread with your cognitive dissonance.

Someone needs to put you in a straight jacket and cart you off to the mental assylum. You are clearly in a very bad way.

Seriously. Didn’t this dude say like 50 posts ago that he was done with this thread?

and ps- don’t tell him Schmee owns a senna and a bunch of other Mclaren’s as well.

I know. This dude is completely off the charts. The mods need to pack him up and send him off somewhere so he can get himself some help. Leaving him stick around is just leaving him to derail and disrupt sensible discussion.
