    here's some conspiracy fun...what if FIA and Mercedes agreed that more competition would be good for ratings, earnings, etc... And Mercedes agreed to detune the engine for the first half of the year. That would allow RedBull to jump forward & add excitement/competition. I'm going to guess/specualte that come August it will swing back to Mercedes & it'll be noted as improvements from summer break or some other reason how they caught up. Just sayin...we'll see if I'm right in a few months

    100 poles, 98 wins, and 7 titles..... no other man in the history of F1 can touch those stats... I still think hitting 100 wins and 100 poles will be this seasons goal while MB works on next years car and gives the fans a break from MB dominance before the next round.

    I think others can reach or even eclipse those marks, if they have a dominant car. If F1 keeps adding races, who knows how many races we will have each season. Before it was about a dozen. Now, we are double that.

    I think the biggest problem getting to the same numbers now is the new measures F1 has implemented for this season...cost cap and the development limitations when finishing well will make it incredibly hard, unless a superb driver has a great ability in picking the right team year after year....

    FIA will treat F1 sprint race same as normal GP

    The FIA will use its rulebook for Formula 1’s sprint races in exactly the same way it would for a normal grand prix, according to race director Michael Masi.

    The FIA seems to re-writting the rules to avoid any lasting dominance in future.

    With a more equal "playing field", I cannot see Hamilton's records to be challenged in these conditions.

    I honestly want Hamilton to win this race. Even if he loses the championship, at least win at Silverstone. I would make a great story, and the place will go absolutely nuts.

    The FIA has announced that the World Motor Sport Council has approved the introduction of Pirelli’s new rear tyre construction for the rest of the 2021 Formula 1 season.

    After Lance Stroll and Max Verstappen suffered high-speed tyre blowouts at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, Pirelli introduced a “more robust” rear tyre construction that was tested during practice at the Austrian Grand Prix.

    Pirelli’s new rear tyres will officially debut at next weekend’s British Grand Prix at Silverstone.

    Someone said that "records were made to be broken" so I'm sure someone will break Hamilton's records too. Schumacher's 7 looked unapproachable. So did Fangio's 5. As noted above, lots more races than in the past. More young drivers coming up, so anything is possible. At the heart of it, you have to be in the right car at the right time, stay healthy, and drive smart. Max already is tied for 18th in F1 wins, he's only 23.
