To be clear, here’s my recent garage history: first supercar was a Ferrari F12 summer 2017, in Nov 2017 I spec’d and ordered an 812, in Dec I added a new Performante that I spec’d, in June 2019 my 812 arrived and replaced my F12, March of 2020 I added a 2005 Ford GT, later that spring I added an 18 mile 2017 Dodge Viper ACR, my 765LT will be here in Jan/Feb 2020, and my STO will be here in Q3/Q4 2021. So...do I look like the kind of guy that is worried about losing money on cars?

You need to stay in your lane. Focus on being a keyboard warrior, a Car God, an advocate for “GT Cars”, and I will focus on my portfolio, my car collection, and my miles.

Congrats on the order, a bit late but good you got one. If you are in NYC, visit the Lamborghini VIP lounge if they will allow you. They have all the samples of Adpersonam colors etc so you can decide specs see the colors/ textures in person....my dealer did not have them for some reason. My experience with Huracan and F8 is dual. For weeks i like the NA/ sound look wildness.. then the torque/elegance)?) bugs bite you and F8 gets out of the garage. I like both but drama seems to be more fun mostly. You probably will be first to test drive the STO vs USA, so let us know how it feels.

 

Ok, thank God for the internet. Check out the postings of Shadowfax, Coincid, cadster, So cal, scrappy , who else? in other car brand forums. They are the same group of AH who feed and bounce things off each other and share the characteristics of the bullying group. The mere fact that they are taking over this thread shows you the losers they are, nothing else to do but lurk in the car forums and validate their ego. McLarenites with nothing else to do than lurk in an F8 vs STO thread. Even the cadster physically threatens people who dont agree with him (and of course "6'6 265 lbs is no match for .45ACP anyway)

 

there should be someone who can produce a V10 soundtrack , a driver who can make a : "song" with the exhaust noise varying notes, with speed, upshift, downshift, build up...need a sound engineer to rig the mics, to ensure fidelity, filter out stray noise etc .. and a proper driver. Dolby or Atmos quality.

There’s still time for you to make your way back. You can offer differing opinions without causing the masses to not like you. It’s all in how you present your point of view. In any event, it’s not too late. You don’t have to stand outside the group and lob rhetorical Molotov Cocktails. Instead, you can actually be part of the group and contribute in kind. Learn from Shadow. Scant few are annoying as he is (sorry Shadow but it’s true), but he contributes with authority, experience, and passion. It’s not the disagreeing that cause people to dislike you, it’s manner and mechanism by which you present your disagreement. Good luck.

Lastly, anyone can take shots, but it’s the true pros that make shots. I am not going to squabble with you any further. Consider this to be the last shot I will make on the subject.

Nothing wrong with either F8 , STO or 765LT. Each have their own qualities over the other. Being from NZ I do like McLaren and will probably add a 675LT or 765LT spider in the future. But Ferrari will always have that prestige over Mclaren. I’m 5 ft 10 so one benefit of being short is that I can comfortably fit in the Huracan. Rear visibility is **** but who cares it will be driven on the beautiful winding canyon roads in Queenstown + track called Highlands is a 30 min drive. If you already own a V8TT pairing it with a NA V10 or flat 6 is a no brainer.

So @cadster owns a Pista, 765Lt. Used to own a performante and has an STO incoming.

@Coincid used to own a performante, and F8 and now owns a 765.

@Shadowfax owns a 2rs, Pista and a 765.

I own a Pista, 720, have a gt3 manual and a 765 incoming. Looking to add a 296 next year as well.

jcmd saved up his whole life to buy a ferrari. Couldn’t get a Pista so he got an f8 and put stripes on it to fake the Pista look and is now calling other members losers.

Much with which to agree. However, after having gotten to know Shadow, I highly respect his knowledge, sincerity and his blunt no nonsense approach. He has little patience for posers and his integrity compels him to call them out. He is a true car enthusiast and like myself, cares little about prestige or status that many on this forum deem paramount in owning these cars. He is pertinaciously
honest which precludes any desire to be anything but. I missed him when he took a leave of absence from the forum and I strongly encouraged his return. I am thrilled he has and I eagerly look forward to his insights, blunt force or not.

 

Perhaps, I was too harsh. Annoying is not the ideal word. Abrasive is much more appropriate. Shadow is an acquired taste, but a taste well worth acquiring. Again, he’s clearly an owner, he’s clearly experienced, he’s clearly knowledgeable, and he’s clearly passionate. While we do not agree on everything, and I certainly don’t like his delivery much of the time, with the aforementioned bonafides, I give him an easy pass.

 

Got word last week my STO is at the warehouse waiting to be shipped. I should receive my STO first week of August and if the Canada/US border opens I plan to bring my STO down for car week.

 

STO looks just mental in brown!!!

Not trying to flex, but I also have a 2005 Ford GT, 2017 Viper ACR, and Ferrari 812. And Scrappy probably has a couple dozen cars, too many for me to recall. You don’t have to own cars to be an authority, and just because you own cars that does not automatically make you an authority. However, ownership usually entails a better command of the subject matter and certainly implies a willingness to put money where one’s mouth is.

I never would have dreamed to spec brown but that looks really good.

 

Shadow was a bit over the top with his relentless F8 negative comments. We privately messaged and we sorted out any differences and I am glad we did. I greatly appreciate his candour and we have great discussions on a continuous basis. He is someone who speaks his mind and possesses the knowledge to back up his opinions.

 

And a bully threatening everyone just because he is a giant.

 

I have owned 18 Porsches over the last 22 years plus a Gallardo Balboni and the 580-2 Huracan and 2 Performantes and a Ferrari F430 and F8.

Drove the 570S and 720S extensively, but had no interest in purchasing. Same for the 458 and 488.

 

Doesn’t matter. You are still a loser.
