    about the 575M as compared to my old 360 is that the CEL goes out almost right away. On the 360, it always took a long time, as if it were really having to ponder whether or not to turn off. Sometimes it chose not to. The 575M always knows that it is good immediately, and the light is out within seconds with no suspense!

    Michael- That is the difference between Motronic 7.3.1 and the later (I know, sounds backwards) 7.1.1.

    Agree! No suspense with 575M. My Scud CEL takes way too long to go off. It always does, but only after the big dramatic pause.

    Interesting. I know the F360 goes through an extra level of checking on the thermocouple ECU as compared to, say, the F355. So, the fact that the 360 takes longer than the 575M may not necessarily mean that the 575M carries out a better check, but, as Taz says, the 575 is the later version, so the processing speed may be faster for the same types of checks carried out on the 360's (?)

    I don't know if it is better or worse, but it is decidedly less stressful for the user . . . Unlike Anthony's SCUD I can't say that my 360 CEL invariably went out.

    I appreciate Taz's explanation. Great to have so much knowledge here.

    It is nice to see them CEL’s go out lol. If there’s some extended suspense first, doesn’t that make it even more satisfying?
