Well, 12 cylinders instead of ten. And another $1.5 million dollars. XX like program. You’ll see them at Finali, maybe another contiguous event or two.

Dusty's sole response to the volume of reasonable questions raised says it all. If he was at all genuine he would have fired back immediately with at least some proof of his bona fides, instead, comes back with a feeble reply, retreating immediately back into his fox hole to duck for cover.

What Exoticcardreamer posted is THE only thing that makes any logical sense here.

And this talk of idolising Dusty - OMG! LMAO! Seriously? Better off worshiping Noone1. At least he was able to post more than a sentence comprising a few nonsensical words whenever he posted, or, replied to questions raised.

You are right. Full stop. But zero chance I worship no one. Lol. He is still going on and on on the maclaren forum about how all cars are boring and no fun to drive.

Again, this is typical of what happens whenever these special versions are released. There is always large swathe of buyers lining up for orders, far larger than the allocations.

At present it's the same here with STO orders, as was the case with Pista, and 765. So many wanted the car but the limited allocations left many out. But when allocations are called and larger amounts of money gets requested to secure the order/build some buyers always fall over.

Personal situations are constantly changing. And there will be instances where cars are custom built, arrive, and the buyer can't foot the bill. This happened a bit with Pista from what I saw and will no doubt will happen with STO too. These cars are limited but there are still a lot being made. It wont happen with an 812C though or a car at that level of exclusivity.

Fun comments as always, I take no offense.
Regular owner. I enjoy trying all cars and can do so especially in this bubble and at this level where real money is not lost. I think car lovers would be crazy not to partake similarly.
I know what I like and keep what I love, the rest I have learned become a hassle to take care of (even if just mentally), so off they go.

If I had free time I would be a Farrah/Doug/Shmee/MrJWW type and try 10X the cars but really for free. My “hi guyzzz” isn’t special enough, sadly.
I do correspond with several of them and it helps steer my away from some purchases that wont cut it for me (F40). I knew going in the Pista and 765lt wouldn’t do it for me, but see line 2 above.

TDF was a dream car, and great to have scratched that itch. I could see maybe a 812GTS by Novitec in the future based on my TDF experience.
As I noted in another thread, the only car that moves me still is the AV SVJ Roadster, but not at the height of this bubble. Maybe a 718 GTS 4.0 Boxster or Spyder for fun. The M4 GTS is another one on my list from a few years ago.

Back to the STO…I do hope they make the spyder version.

I've never been impressed by guys who just buy and flip regardless of what they buy especially where they don't even track or drive their cars properly during the course of ownership. Those guys are mainly just big noting posers and none want to drive their cars properly least of all hold them for any length of time in fear of losing money which is usually all borrowed anyway. But re noone1, as pesky as he can be, he at least fires back and stays connected to the argument in defense to any attack - rarely cuts and runs like what has gone on here. - and never comes back with feeble one or two word nonsensical replies. I will say that Dusty has a pretty thick hide similar to Noone1's though.

The difference is the STO production will be 1/3 of the Pista production so there's only so many allocations to go around. You also have to factor in that the STO is the last hardcore track variant with a NA V10 so that alone will make the STO very desirable for collectors.

That would mean the Aventador replacement will be pushing a 1000HP. It's possible but I think the base HP on the Huracan replacement will be lower but of course they'll leave room for more HP for the 100 variants they have planned for each model lol.

Well I'm hoping so! And understand completely what you're saying there. Not that I would buy STO to sell. It would be a car to hold and use properly. My only concern with it so far is the lack of headroom. I also saw in that FOS vid where the youtuber dude had slid down the seat into a terribly uncomfortable position just to get a ride in it. The Driver was also quick to get his helmet off I noticed. This situation would be the main deal breaker for me....a decision I don't need to make today.

Noone spews nonsense. I hear what you are saying about him not cutting and running and having a thick skin, but after his ban here he happened to be on a couple of Mclaren life threads. Every single time
He is challenged or questioned- he cleverly changes the subject- throws in some randomn argument and completely distracts from the topic at hand. It’s quite comical and genius. You start arguing something completely different with him and all of a sudden he starts twisting your words.

He did this in the infamous drive in auto mode thread with me. And in reflection- he completely had no clue what he was talking about but he kept changing his point and arguing something different.

It’s quite obvious now and quite annoying because he is even more clueless than he appears to be but a master at manipulating the conversation so that you never know what is heads or tails and after a while what you are arguing with him about.

No question Noone is indeed a VERY challenging adversary - a brilliant manipulator of facts to his advantage. A man with a very thick hide too. My god he was persistent! More often than not what he did have to say had a fair degree of truth to it, so whether or not he owned the cars in debate he was always very well researched from intense web researching and his car almanacs - which he must have had a very large stack of!! This unfortunately made it very hard for actual owners to put him back on the right track. He was clearly a smart guy though I will give him that and, was tenacious - never shy of a good fight in his bid to come out on top. This again certainly got the better of a few guys on Fchat which is probably why the mods had to make the hard call on him to boot him off knowing he didn't own any cars and was just pulling actual owners on for size all the time - calling them out - annoying the crap out of them - which lead to some very long winded and rather unnecessary arguing. I haven't paid much attention to what Noone's got himself up to over at Mclife as frankly I don't have the time or inclination to get involved there. That said, I do keep the odd eye on the 765 section every once in a while to check in to see whether there's anything of interest, but that's as far as I want to take it there for now.

All you needed to say- “brilliant manipulator of facts”. Enough said. I have no further desire to talk about him.

True. But there was an entertainment factor and he certainly drew interest amongst the members with his challenging posts. A forum without an eclectic mix of players would get a bit boring so I think there is always a place for guys like Noone, Zeus, Dusty, Igor Hounds, The Mayor etc. It's how they are managed by the members and, mods (where absolutely necessary) and, only fully reeled in when the nonsense becomes too far fetched or, becomes used to overly troll negative reaction against actual owners. Anyway let the games continue!!! Plus a good fox hunt is long overdue!:D

It looks good for what it is but I wouldn’t take it that far. It will always garner attention but in comparison to cars like Pista, F8, 765, these all look far more socially acceptable in a street environment. The look of STO is more applicable for a race track than anywhere else imho unless it is in more of a conservative colour and without all the race track frilly accents. I believe even the dealer driving the STO in the vid pointed that out as well.

Are you sure about this? Lambo doesn't exactly have a good track record for producing the last of anything.

Hey guys, where do you recommend to post questions regarding how to spec the STO? Lamborghini chat does not look very active, not surprisingly the best info so far are here or on Rennlist...

    Any links highly appreciated!

In all seriousness, the STO would look good in just about any colour so pick one you like, find a complementary brake caliper colour (or black/silver) and avoid the contrast pack. Done.

In my opinion, less is more with the STO. Avoid all the stickers. Go with a base color that you like and then I personally like the black contrast. Id stick with 2 colors- base and black contrast. Maybe an STO sticker on the side or depending on the color of the car- Italian flag stripe. Thats about it. Bunch of specs posted earlier in the thread. Personally Im not a fan of the fading dots/squares on the side but obviously its personal preference. Less is more.

Subjective, but IMO very difficult to make a good looking STO. Bypass the decals and dual color schemes for sure.

Thank you all for the quick reply - indeed my idea is spec the car with a stealth livery, I think lambo in general looks great in dark colors. Look how beautiful is in the Nürburgring session!

I have instead few technical questions, i.e.:
    - matte vs gloss paint: matte is great on the lambo but very difficult to maintain and repair in case of scratches etc. I have been recommended by the PPF company to go gloss and then put matte PPF. Thoughts?
    - lift: i am inclined not to opt it, i dont have in my GT3RS which has a very low lip and never felt the need to have it. How low is the lip of the STO? Any real experience?
    - sport seats vs racing: i am again inclined to get the racing as i tried in the past and it seems ok, not sure why so many people against it?
    - exposed carbon inside and outside: Views? How ugly is the basic plastic in the interiors, for example the vents covers?
    - there is an option where you get the titanium roll cage etc, any views on that?

I don't spec a car for resale value as usually i drive the cars for many years, so it is just a matter of practicality and usability and I will bother with residual value once i will sell it...

Not a fan of matte, but that’s just me. Seen too many matte Lambos.
Current car doesn’t have lift. Not needed in FL but a necessity for trailering, so all future cars will have it.
Sport seats for me. Comfy enough yet supportive enough too (best of both worlds).
I opted out of CF this time around. Base dark chrome actually looks better IMO. CF excitement has worn off (thanks, 458)
Don’t know about roll cage, but you can’t see out the rear window anyway….so whatever floats your boat. Not sure if it’s even available.
