After watching this video again, I noticed something:

first, the engine sounds are not always synchronized with the video, that aside...

however, when the car is approaching you hear a lot of "engine intake noise" and no so much sound once the car moves past the camera (thanks GPF!)

watch it, you will hear a lot of engine sounds as the car approaches, this is not normal (except where straight pipes are used) especially for a car with emissions compliant exhaust (as I presume is equipped on this car)

the sounds are not from the exhaust, instead, from the intake, so maybe that is exempted from EU noise regulations since it is not from the exhaust...

so, it seems Ferrari tricked-out the intake to make it reverberate and that totally explains why the hood has the "carbon fiber blade" across it, not so much for engine cooling, no, for engine intake sound, a way for it to get out to be heard that would normally be buried under a padded hood

and that helps the engine restore some of its glorious sound, but, not really the same as pre-GPF

p.s. that further explains why the video mostly shows the car approaching the camera and not so much with it from behind as it passes, specifically because the most sound is from the front as the car approaches...

I also want to know what those extra holes in the rear end are about. We don't really know. My theory is its some kind of extra sound pipe from somewhere to help get more sound out. No doubt Ferrari made maximum effort to make this car absolutely thrilling, and that's just as it should be. :)

I think you maybe right but Intake sound as long as it is real is a pretty great sound agreed it is somewhat different from the exhaust sounds .. However as long as it is real .. a car with great intake sound is fantastic and very rare now days .... For example a lot of the sound you hear on the GT3 and GT3 Rs 911 ... Is actually intake sound ....
    and I like it

A spec I have made based off of Stirling Moss' famous pale green 250 GTO. Seems that a few tailor made cars have taken on this spec recently, and I greatly respect the tribute!

Car looks great.... but staggered 21"/20" wheels would have created better visual balance to my eyes. The rear is quite thic and makes the 20" wheels look under sized.

Sorry but Tdf sounds better on start-up. So does non-GPF 812SF for that matter.

I love it, the carbon wheels look great and will perfectly compliment the Canna di Fucile paint of my upcoming (Imaginary :D) 812C

Only deception, the rear hatch, those are not vents but some weird looking shrimp stomachs, hate them

The dynamic range and sensitivity of the microphone is incredibly important when trying to take in exhaust videos. Additionally, any unintended audio compression from the video recording and/or YouTube can severely affect the perception of tone.

I would take the video with a grain of salt. Nothing is like hearing it in person.

That said, the 296 GTB sounds flippin' awesome at 3:30.

Stuck my nose in the door this afternoon and it looked so ordinary in white I didn't realise what it was !

There was a standard car in TDF or similar parked around the corner that looked far more elegant (and way better than the black GTS nearby too)
