Paint choice is personal. There's no right or wrong answer
I specced the lift. It's a low car.
If some level of comfort is important, get the sport seats. I did.
I wasn't able to spec any exterior carbon, but would have. Skipped interior carbon to match the exterior poverty spec.
Cage not allowed in our market, but would skip it (extra weight and I don't track my street cars often)

    Lamborg****-talk is more active IMO

go the lifter for sure - My Perf would scrape on speed humps with the lifter down
Racing seats again for sure but I am 5'7" so for me they are perfect - others may not feel that way
I specifically did not pick CF on the Perf - on the STO I would go CF everywhere IMO

Enjoy the process- its a phenomenal car and will be highly sort after if the Perf is anything to go by

$400k car even after poverty spec - love it!

We should play the 'how close can you go without going over' game. Friend's is at $399.8k

    Tnx-
Color is indeed personal, my question was more Matte (apparently difficult to take care) or Glossy (we all know how to do it)
Carbon: not to be stingy but it is just a value for money consideration - when you drive you don't see all this carbon, weight is the same and the feeling is the same. But definitely it looks wonderful in any car (i have added a lot of carbon is some of my previous cars)
Lift: I had only in one car before but rarely used, i opted it in that occasion only because the exposed carbon lip and air intakes and i was worried about damaging it. On the GT3 cars that are quite low, never had it and never felt the need of it

    Thanks for the inputs.

Seats: i am inclined to get the racing seats too. Don't need super comfy drive as it is a weekend / track car and definitely not a daily. Also I prefer harder seats as you "feel" the car better (vibrations, the road surface etc.). So far the best racing seats i experienced were the P1 seats in the McLaren.

P1 seats (aka carbon buckets) are my favourite also - across any brand, any model. Porsche’s 18-way are also up there….

100% agree P1's are the best out there. I have lower back issues and the CF buckets in all brands work best for me.

leasing avoids sales tax. Still out the registration though for the year.

Registration costs, lease return fees, etc etc. Its fine- its not my money. If Dusty can afford it, good for him.

no lease return fees, it's open ended and you are essentially just renting the money. Very wise choice in California for certain circumstances vs. paying a huge sales tax bill if purchasing the car outright.

Also enables someone to customize a lease by setting depreciation amounts. So again, in certain circumstances it can be a very valuable tool.

This really had me laughing. I suppose it was at Lamborghini Horacio Pagani was taught how to endlessly create new versions of the same car. Hand on heart, I don't think either the STO or the RWD versions are the last we will see of the Huracan. They haven't even done a Superleggera or a Balboni, or what ever other idea they might have...

Most don’t understand or leverage this, coupled with other strategies. For high end/hard to get cars this works exceptionally well to use free/low cost (bubble pop excluded).

Leasing is indeed very good. Only penalties are one to 2 monthly early termination fee

You’re hilarious. I spent 6 months working on mine, and even after submitting, I still do not feel 100% confident. No looking back now though…it’s in my LamborghiniUnica mobile app.

I’ll admit. I don’t lease as it doesn’t make sense to me. I buy my cars outright. Probably stupid but it’s just my thing to not have payments for depreciating assets. YMMV.

Porsche are the masters of regurgitating the same car with a few tweaks. Makes all the rest look like amateurs.

When was huracan introduced? Lambo is on 10 year cycles with Aventador and Huracan.

I'm sure they'll be a parts bin special like the Ultimae which might have bits and pieces from the STO but as far as track focused variants the Perf and STO will be it. Similar to the SV and SVJ.

2014 as a MY15 car. The Huracan is getting replaced in 2024 so exactly 10 years.

I strongly considered matte paint. I wanted something radically different than my other cars. Ultimately, I decided that I did not like the appearance of gloss paint with satin PPF. To my eyes, that setup looks too shiny. Similarly, I did not like matte paint covered in satin PPF. Once again, to my eyes, that setup disrupts some of the appearance of the pure uncovered matte paint. In the end, I decided that my choice was unprotected matte paint (which looks glorious) or gloss paint with full shiny PPF. I opted for the latter. My other 5 cars have every exterior part, carbon bits and all, completely protected with film. It’s the only way I feel comfortable driving.

Regarding sport versus racing seats, have you had some seat time in the Lamborghini carbon racing seats? I ask, because I think they kind of suck. My dealer told me that racing seats negatively affect consumer demand. Of course, in fairness, I am large (6’6” 265lbs) and do not fit in those seats. Meanwhile, the new STO sport seats are a massive upgrade over the comfort seats in my previous Performante. Tremendous bolster support, and they offer additional headroom too.

I am a weirdo about carbon bits. I did pretty much full exterior carbon in both my 812 and my 765LT, and chose to do the same for the STO. I want to say full exterior/interior for the STO is about $32,000. Not sure if any of that is recovered in the secondary market, but I do know that I don’t care either way. The car is going to be in my permanent collection. Also, I am pretty sure that the front fender louvers come standard in carbon. On that basis, I think the rest of the bits that can be carbon, should be made carbon in order to best match. (If I am wrong, please correct me).

The lift is a complete no brainer. It’s like a handgun…better to have it, and not need it…than need it, and not have it.

IMO the CF looks better on the F8 than the STO. With so much going on the exterior of the STO, I just didn’t see the adding all that carbon.

But I did end up going back on the F8 spider build and adding a bunch of CF because the exterior plastic didn’t look all that great to me. This after looking at two F8 spiders side by side (one full external CF, the other sans).

I wish Ferrari had offered an interior dark chrome option (looks awesome in the STO) as opposed to the aluminum-looking lighter chrome.

But unfortunately…….what I saved on CF on the STO, I blew (even more) on ridiculously expensive paint. Like @cadster, I don’t really care if I ever get it back, or if I’ll ever sell it anyway.
