    No, it would be sprayed on. Make sure to use a shop that has done this process before and it shouldn't be an issue.

    Sorry I'm not familiar with the bay area.
    Here is a video I quickly searched for you so you can get an idea how the process goes.
    I've had them done in the past on other cars and currently on my FF albeit I did buy the FF ones from a member here. They really come out looking like they came from the factory...well technically they did but you get what I mean.
