With Parc Ferme in force, why practice? Seems to be they should just go to the Sprint and be done with it lol. No sense of any organization for this 'format'. The mystery is how hard any one decides to push vs risk, damage etc. Contrived drama/fake created drama?

Well they only had about 2 years to discuss this so it was inevitable they managed to screw it up...

What a ****ing **** show it really is. It's so clear they need a dictator in to run the show.

Wonder if changes will be allowed post-sprint race. Max not happy with his set-up and would be nice if he could make some set-up tweaks for the race:

“I didn't expect so much grip and ultimately I think we’ve put a bit too much rear wing as well,” he said. “But the track was really much faster all of a sudden in qualifying, especially the slow corners.

“There are so many flat out now, you can't gain a lot of time in those fast corners any more. It was just not ideal.”

All these rules that reduce testing and the parc-ferme thing are just so artificial and just really rely on luck to catch out a team or competitor so it throws up a random result.

Too much rear wing puts them in a tricky position...as they can't adjust it. Adding more front wing to balance it will only slow them more, and Red Bull was already one of the slowest in the speed traps. Not ideal.

It's early day yet, but his proposed new format with a qualification race may prove to be a damp squid.

As someone commented, the British GP as to be seen basically as a 69 laps race held over 2 days, with a red flag after 17 laps on the first day.

Is that the recipe to inflate the audience? Time will tell.

Do you guys in the US have to watch the Sky show or does ESPN have its own programme/team for the US market?

I still prefer early morning races—get done with it and have the rest of the day free. These mid-day races are a PITA.

Wasn’t aware FP2 was so early considering the sprint race is much later. Just stupid schedule.
