Lol Lewis blaming his poor start on the Honda being a great engine.

In France max had one of the best reactions but all Honda engined cars where slowest to 100 amd 200 kph....

Lewis simply made a poor start

Pretty good pace too—couple of seconds behind a Merc and built on his 10 second gap to Norris behind after the latter got by Alonso.

Possibly that is better. The last 3 laps drivers did not make more effort. So for 4 of 8 laps they race?

Qualy normal demands full effort. Possibly for 2 laps is all you get to set your time. The pressure is more acute in the normal qualy.

Of course, Merc suck. Never mind that 6 Merc engines (across 4 teams) started in the top ten.

Well, that was just a boring as the full race, but at least it didn't take 2 hours.

I guess I didn’t find it exciting but can’t blame them for trying!

I hope Merc strategy is on their a-game tomorrow. They have two Mercs vs Verstappen.

I don't know if these qualif races are the way forward; the jury is still out on that.
I think the teams brought that format upon them.
During normal qialifs, the public don't get to see most of the cars for long, the way they are gradually eliminated.
Also some teams keep their cars too much in their garages.
At least with a qualif race, they have to send their cars out!

52 laps with Mediums blistering after about 13 laps. What is the weather forecast tomorrow? It was pretty hot today, but yesterday's "quali" was a few hours later in cooler temps. Race time will be 1.5 hrs earlier than today, so even hotter?

Yes fully agree. F1 attempted something new. We have more of this to assess then they will tell us the results for next year. I can see the circuits 'hyping' this and demanding it be included.

Possibly. That just means lots of TIRE MANAGEMENT and very little RACING. I love F1 lol :)

Kinda every format failed . Back in the days they had 12 laps to set their best times which resulted in senna on pole more often than none. They tried the only one lap , same thing Schumacher on pole every time. They tried the 3 sessions- same results…
I don’t think much can be done.

Yeah but if Verstappen has a 10-15 seconds cushion quickly not much can be done.

Max is used to flying alone. Perez is not average a P2 or P3 start at all. His only challenge is LH. If both Mercedes are not able to challenge who is behind Max is meaningless. I dont sense a Mercedes major change is occuring given new update just yet.

As they all say - 'its a long race' lol :)

Even Max said post sprint, its difficult to pass there at this circuit. That is sad to hear yes?

Looks like the heat and tire management will be the main interest if there are no mechanical brakes

The drivers cannot waive and engage the fans when the interviewer is distracting them. Well done lol. Shut up and let the drivers simply face and waive to the fans.
    Breaks yes? Mech fail?
