If the drivers weren't required to be wearing HANS devices, I would hate to see the outcome.

He recieved his last penalty points in 2019 IIRC. They last for 12 months not a reset every year.

I don't know about that. If another driver gets into a similar situation, the stewards, might really clamp down.

That wasn't the case today with Lewis. I hope Max responds in kind and sends Lewis to the hospital with a mild concussion.

The penalty will probably be more severe for Max IF it happens IMO. Just shows the inconsistencies with penalties and the race stewards.

Agreed today, the fault is on Lewis.
Frankly I dislike them both; Lewis is phony fake , humble and max as arrogant as it gets.

if Hamilton does it again then they should clamp down on him really hard; max has been clean this year. So if they tangle wheels in a similar vein and LH flies off the track then max shouldn’t get more than a 10 second penalty for his first offense. The tone for the rest of the season was set today with a very weak penalty.

Calling for suspension is stupid, these incidents happen multiple times a year. Both Lewis and Max could be at fault for not giving an inch. The accident happened to end with a hard crash. If Verstappen had ran wide and regained, there wouldn't be all this foolish talk. Lewis got his penalty and served it. If he finished off the podium it would be less controversial. Don't cry because he was able to pull off the win. Horner should stop the whinning and focus the next race.

I’m sure that will be a bitter sweet win for Ham. But it keeps the championship alive and that’s good for the show. Next up is Hungary and that’s all redbull, so max will get his revenge.

Leclerc did really well to hang on to the lead all race in an underwhelming ferrari. Definitely driver of the day.

I prefer an authentic arrogance over passive-aggressiveness. Although I see Max as supremely confident as opposed to arrogant; he isn’t trying to be someone he is not.

Shout out to Ferrari: under-promise and over-deliver with just some fine fettling of a car (based on last year’s dog) with minimum updates since the beginning of the year!!

They were so strong on the (M)s today, too bad they lost performance going on the (H)s. HAM would never have had a chance if they ended the race on (M)s. And this, despite the engine issues Charles had.

Anyway, onward Hungary even if I hate that track. The reds should be pretty good there.

Max has hesitations? That dude is an alpha-dog driver…all gas, no brakes all the time. He will continue to aggressively pursue the wdc.

What happened to the rule that says "a driver is supposed to leave space" in a corner for an opponent to overtake ?

You just can't start a corner on the outside and dive at the apex to block someone from overtaking.
Well, you can, and you end up in the scenery if your opponent is determined enough !

Max tried to intimidate Hamilton, and paid for it . He lost the race at the first lap. Not very clever.

It was the same penalty as Perez received for forcing Charles off track in Austria, it’s the penalty they’ve been giving for not leaving space, but certainly was a much more serious off for Max than we’ve seen this season.

Pretty clear from the replays it was a desperate move with resulting (and inevitable) understeer from HAM turning in from such a tight line and collecting Max.

With Charles he had a better line because of an easier overtake and better grip so he didn’t take out Charles but still close.

And, of course, Sir Horseshoe gets a Red Flag, caused by him, to fix his cracked wheel!
