This forum isn't any more innocent. Usual folks who bemoan anything Lewis does.
It's ironic given these were probably the same comments being directed from the same people towards Max when he was busy getting into scraps with Vettel & Kimi....

Please concisely spit it out. Are you saying the FIA is afraid to penalize properly because they're worried about accusations of racism?

    Yes it"s highly likely.
We've seen consistant leniency from the FIA towards Hamilton's infringements.

Perhaps there is different reason for the FIA's leniency and welcome all alternative theories !

Terra, I have seen the onboards and Lewis was still behind Max. It was Max line and Lewis had enough room. Listen to what Jenson said about it.

I’d appreciate some examples of “consistent leniency from the FIA towards Hamilton's ‘infringements’.”

I’ve seen the very same onboards. Max squeezed Lewis towards the (old) pit wall on the way to Copse, preventing Lewis from taking the preferred line into Copse. At that point, neither of them “owned” the corner. Obviously Max was well aware Lewis was next to him but still nevertheless lunged towards the apex, effectively pinching/closing the door on him (i.e. ostensibly believing/hoping would “back out” of it as usual.

However, this time NEITHER of them was willing to concede. In the past, Lewis has been far more cautious and circumspect with respect to Max’s bullying and kamikaze-like tactics. That dynamic has now seemingly changed.

In summary, very hard racing by two very determined racers. Such a thing often leads to unexpected outcomes.

Look again, Verstappen did move over at first but then back again to give Lewis room. There was plenty of space for Lewis. It was Max line.

Max’s attempt to give Lewis “room” happened a wee bit too late in this case.

Nope, look again, he gave enough room way before the entry of the corner.

There wasn't a single racist comment anywhere on this site. Suggesting so is truly vile.

Max has the racing line going into the apex of Copse. Copse isn't a gradual turn. You have to go wide at first while entering the apex at Copse then turn in on the apex to achieve the most optimal exit.

Lewis is "shallow" of the racing line thereby inducing "oversteer" while exiting Copse and therefore has to let off the gas a bit while exiting the apex at Copse. Lewis doesn't have the optimal racing line given the photos you posted.

The "optimal" racing line cannot be held when you are racing wheel to wheel with a car alongside you.

Any driver knows he has to compromise his lines when dicing with an opponent.

Correct and Lewis was not on the optimal racing line therefore he had 2 options:

    1) back off a bit when going wheel-to-wheel
    2) go forward with it "punting" the other driver whom has the optimal racing line thereby clipping him out of the race which is what Lewis chose.

Wow! Extremely uncalled for. It sucks that he won but at the end of the day we just move on. Unfortunately there are really stupid people in this world that would resort to such behaviour.

Not sure leverage is an appropriate word. Racism has no place in this world period. He didn’t go out there seek to be insulted.

Lewis acted like Mad Max on Sunday. Poor mad max he dishes it out but is surprised when someone else doesn’t agree that he is entitled to be the only bully on the track. ;)

The same applied to Verstappen !

It takes 2 to tango, and Verstappen couldn't ignore Hamilton on his heels.

These 2 had already some close encounters during the last 2 corners !
