Thanks. I’m pretty sure I’m dialed in on the spec but would be nice to see the blue carbon. Much appreciated.
Hennessey dyno'd the 765: 747 HP at wheels 880 HP at crank 93 Octane with added MS109 780 HP at wheels 919 HP at crank. No wonder the 765 was faster than the Senna in 1/4 mile.
Don’t understand why so much differences with the Factory official datas? What’s the interest for McLaren?
Since some of us are being castigated for discussing the 765 in the F8-STO thread, have I mentioned that the 765 represents the embodiment of not only what a super car should be, the descrition would further be appropriate to include a hyper car. It occupies a special place at the pinnacle of the hierarchy of the super/hyper car paradigm.
Honestly- still waiting on the price list. My dealer and I used the coupe configurator to get close to final spec.
I don’t quite know if I’ve gone nuts yet. Have specced it blindly without knowing price. Once we get the price list, I’ll probably dial in a few frivolous options.
Whatever the final price your spec was on the coupe, add $40k for the spider. If you did lots of CF and lots of other MSO goodies, you will be circa $475K.
I know you have a 720S, but one of the options I didn’t check that I wish I did is carbon inside the doors. It would look sick. One option that I didn’t do that I’m glad I didn’t is the carbon roof. I did all black and I think it looks better, actually. on the subject of carbon, the carbon front bumper is a must, it’s one piece carbon and look incredible. I dinged mine a tiny bit (1/4 inch) already despite the PPF but it’s an easy fix for a skilled shop luckily. the other piece that’s a carbon fiber must imho is the rear of the car above the splitter. It’s so impressive how they cut the holes in the carbon to match the holes cut in the titanium above.
That’s what I did with my F8 not knowing what it was going to cost it came in like $420,000 had to cut some stuff and get it down by $5o,000.
I think that’s the way to do it. I didn’t do certain options on the 765 that may have been stunning visually but I know wouldn’t increase my enjoyment or usability of the car. Like the roof scoop or engine viewing window.
Are you talking about full carbon sills? Yeah we did those. I have no exterior carbon. Doing a different look. Interior looks like someone ate too many carbon tacos at a Mexican restaurant and threw up on the inside. It’s full of carbon. Lol
To me, the carbon roof is a must have and if I changed anything I may not have done the black exhaust. The titanium version looks so good. These are minor things that won't take away from the total package.
I spec’d the CF roof and it looks amazing. Same for titanium exhaust. Black gets lost. Full carbon sill is an absolute must. Looks great and it’s size makes it very noticeable. All CF interior completes the look and enhances the overall appeal. Since the mirrors, hood vents and fender louvers are CF, looks a bit incongruent to not spec some more. Omit CF on the lower portion of the car which includes the rear splitter, side rockers and front bumper, but add CF to headlights, vents below, and aero bridge. That creates a interesting combination of strategically chosen CF consistent with the upper portion of the car and the standard palladium on the bottom. Very pleased with the result. Simply my 2 cents.
