I have to carry a laptop and accessories when I'm in the office or I travel. I have a black laptop bag that I use, but it's getting up there in years.

I'd love a nice classy leather briefcase or attache - something that's fitting for my age and seniority. Stylish, not stuffy.

I can't afford a Hermes bag, my budget would be 1/10 of that. But I know nothing about bags, what do you all use / own / recommend?

I bought a Valextra briefcase on Farfetch a couple of years ago. Lots of good options on their site in various price ranges.

I will definitely take a look. Was it a hardcase or a leather type?

I have a leather soft-side bag from Levenger. It doesn’t give as much protection as my computer backpack, but it is more than sufficient for when I am driving or (pre-pandemic) taking the train. I’m not working today, so I’ll post pics of mine when I get home. I’ve had it since 2016 and it has held up very well. My wife has the larger version and it takes a beating, but still looks good. She bought her bag in 2014.
I’m pretty sure mine is this one.

    And hers is this one

Tumi has a couple of nice ones. Not Hermès, but suitable, wears great.

    It's small - I believe 12.7" x 8.5" x 0.6" (taken from Lenovo website - it's a Lenovo Carbon X1).

I've been using this Bopai backpack with my laptop for a couple of years. Very functional and nice. Good quality. Even has a built in charger.

I rock a metal Halliburton ZERO, shallow depth to combat the weight.

Normally brushed aluminum silver, I bought two on Close Out that were a special red merlot color.
Kind of sets off the Ferrari cuff links.......

MSRP was $700, but look for Factory Close outs out of NYC

Go to a Ferragamo outlet. Carlsbad, cabazon, or Ventura or Vegas. They will have really nice ones for about $700. These are not made for outlets. These were actually in the boutiques.
