No my 16m's were scud red with italian flag stripe and black with silver stripe. Yes, indeed I am. Haven't been this excited about a car for quite some time.

Maybe I am reading this wrong, but do you think there’s a chance you don’t get a car? I just punched my order last week and it didn’t seem like there were any doubts about my slot.

Until the factory picks up your order, it's just a dream...

The V12 line has nothing else to do (outside maybe a few remaining Monzas or an odd 812SF), if they are full production should be no issue, but I don't believe they are currently full production (2200 V12s per year or so), hopefully none of the supply chain issues are affecting.

Let us know when your order status goes 10Red, then you're in :)

I don't have history of any significance with the brand. I have the 15 458 Spider but I bought that used from an independent dealership. The only reason it even registers with Ferrari is because I've been purchasing the powercube for it since I got it a couple of years ago, and apparently that gets you into their system as an owner. (I get a pin number of some kind related to my history)

I've been told that considering the size of the dealership, the amount of orders in front of me, and how much longer they are likely to build the GTS, that I have about a 75% chance of getting the order picked up. I already have an SCCA license through AMG Academy and have been racing for a couple of years, but I might do whatever the top level of the driving school is with them just to add that to my profile and for the fun of it, and maybe that will help a smidgen. At some point I might even arrive and drive a few races with the dealership race car but that's not going to be done in time to register with this particular order.

It's fine, I don't stress about these things ... if I get one I will be very happy and if I don't I will also be very happy. TLDR: happy soulsea no matter what. :)

Now I understand. Good on the dealership for being fully transparent. I’m rooting for it to work out for you.

I get it. Only guarantee in life is death and taxes. That said, my dealer is solid, and they told me I’ll get the car, and so I’d like to think the chances are strong that I’ll…get the car.

I am on my 5th Ferrari and to this day I don't understand the correlation between an order and allocation. I always assumed that if I place a deposit and the build spec goes into MODIS and the code moves from W (Waitlist) to P (Approved by Dealer) that the factory will eventually fulfill that order by allocating a build slot, barring unforseen circumstances, at which point you move to 10G (Approved by HQ). I am not aware of any case in which a dealer took a deposit and a MODIS was status P and car was not eventually delivered. That would be damaging not only to the dealer but to the brand and Ferrari is very sensitive to that. There must be some science or professional judgment coupled with coordination between the dealer and the regional distributor / factory being applied somewhere behind the scenes to the "black box" of this process to prevent that kind of disappointment. I would be very curious what has been the experience of owners on this board - have you ever not got a car after achieving the circumstances above?

It's my understanding that even if the car is specced and into modis following the dealers approval, it must be approved by FNA (if you're in USA) or overseeing body for other countries. Once they have given the green light it now becomes 10 Red and you've secured the allocation and the build is in the system, just a matter of time which is usually 6-8 months. Until FNA approves the car, you're just on the list at the dealer even thouhg they have your deposit.

Case in point, my dealer had 12 or so deposits for GTS and back in February was told by FNA that they would only get 2 slots (due to Covid delays in getting parts from suppliers) so they had to choose 2 clients to move forward for FNA's approval and those 2 lucky ones are getting the car. The rest could move the deposits to other models (Roma, Portofino M etc...) or get a refund.

I've specced many cars over the years and until it gets the go ahead from FNA or Maranello in the case of special editions, there is zero guarantee that there is a car for you. The dealers are given the slot allocations based on their client list (repeat buyers), sales volumes, use of Ferrari financial services, TM specced models etc... the more FNA will reward them with future allocations.

Just curious, if you see your spec in your garage on MyFerrari, and listed as “waiting” does that mean it is approved by someone at Ferrari and the build will happen? I’m not sure that even qualifies as 10R, but certainly seems encouraging.

The app is not even close to being accurate. My GTS is on the water and production photos came through this week but still says "waiting list." I have deposits down on an SF90 spider and 296 GTB both with specs listed and both say waiting list on the app.

Only reliable way is for the sales advisor to give you a status update. Once they say 10R you've got the approval from all that are involved and have now secured your allocation.

    Understood.
Just seems to me that they wouldn’t want to waste time entering your spec into your garage on the App (either at FNA, NY atelier, or Maranello) if there wasn’t an expectation of that car being built. The sensible thing would be to only enter the spec once that build spot has been “assigned” and likely to proceed rather than just adding them in willy nilly.....but you never know....

I agree. I got my initial photo of the chassis being painted and the car was already on the boat on its way to the US. So ask your dealer to check.
As for options I think CarPlay is a waste even if you use Waze. Just Bluetooth link the phone and you get the audio alerts . Looking at that minuscule screen while driving an 800 hp car is a recipe for disaster. The passenger display as well- if my passenger needs something entertaining just press on the accelerator harder.
I had both of those options on my SF and in over 2 years of ownership saw the passenger display used once and I used CarPlay twice then stopped. I’d much rather have the full display of car essentials such as speed, temps etc than look at a minuscule map on the dash. I don’t miss either option on my GTS.
I do like the surround view- the SF and GTS are big cars and several blind spots make parallel parking a challenge and surround view takes away a lot of the anxiety.
I also prefer the sport exhaust tips- I don’t have to keep them squeaky clean as I did on my SF(I admit I obsessed about that)
As for race seats vs full electric- a lot depends on you height, torso/ leg ratio, and how cold your area is ( I love heated seats in convertibles- extends the topless driving season for me)
Hope your dealer and the factory come through with your order. Enjoy the process- it’s worth the wait!

And here…. Waiting for the “gods” as well. Deposit in and spec in and waiting to see. Will also be adding to a 458 spider. Seems fun to have the last NAs 8 and 12 in open air… Will keep group posted.

I'm all for the F12 TDF, still looking for one. I drove a SA recently, and I guess I was expecting that there would be less chassis flex. I don't feel that vibration in the GTS. IMO the speciale coupe is one of the best NA V8s ever made.

Just finalized my specs. Now have to wait and see if there is an allocation and approved by FNA.

I have specced my GTS as nero interior with rosso inner details
1- Has anyone had any problem with the reflection of the coloured stripes on the dashboard in the windshield?
2- Would you recommend the heat insulating windshield?

I would greatly appreciate your advice!

Contrasted stripes on the top of the dash are always going to reflect in the windscreen. Personally it would drive me crazy. I spec’ed black stripe on black dash and no contrast stitch on my 812. The rest of the car is cuoio.
I have the insulated windscreen which is good in hot climates. Should lengthen the life of your leather in hard sunlight.
