Gents gents gents…let’s focus here. I’m sponsoring a group buy of “Type R” decals so that everyone can smoke the haters with at least another dyno supported 3hp…
I think a bit more info as to what he meant by that would be helpful. The velocity stacks are plastic and rather smooth from the factory. Surface finish of induction tract is not a big consideration in power/airflow. Many actually put emphasis on roughing this up for fuel atomization. He may have meant porting/re-shaping which of course can alter the flow capability, but just polishing already smooth plastic is not likely to do much. JMO
I didn't read much of that thread but what little I saw was silly. Atul sounds like he has a lot of enthusiasm and money but knows next to nothing about engines, dynos, or modifications. Yes, adding a Motec ECU and livemapping your car will get you a little more power. No argument there. But until I see before and after 3rd party dyno tests of the GruppeM intake 1) from the same dyno 2) on the same car 3) using SAE correction and 4) on a stock engine with no other mods in play (i.e. a scientifically valid test), I would advise you to save your money and buy one of these instead.
Hey, that might actually work . Unfortunately, I already bought the GruppeM Intake ages ago. Haven’t installed it yet, but I’m almost ready to rock and roll. Perhaps we should a do a socal 355 dyno meet or something. I’m all for finding out what works and what doesn’t. This would be the perfect time as my car only has a muffler and straight pipes. All someone needs to do is point out the dyno and location. Should we start a new thread?
Definitely, its a good idea to do and thread it. Be prepared to be disappointed. Image Unavailable, Please Login

https://bringatrailer.com/member/louienocs/ Ironically, the winner bid on a few 993's and didn't win. Welcome to the dark side Louie .
Considering the results of this GTS, as a seller, is it better to sell a car serviced/fully sorted or needing service and leaving that up to the buyer? It appears to me, at the very least, the car should look nice inside out regardless of miles.
This guys bid history looks like mine. *tries to buy a porsche* *tries to buy a porsche* *tries to buy a porsche* ....f#c|< it. *buys ferrari*
Seems he had no interest in Ferraris whatsoever. Probably woke up today, saw an interesting 355 on his BAT feed and decided it was time to win something on BAT. If true, then there's no denying the reach BAT has and perhaps influence on spontaneous purchases. Dude was out to buy something special from the 90's and today was his day.
That's basically how my first 355 went. I was trying to buy a 993 Turbo...kept missing them or getting beat out and then eventually I got fed up and looked at what else was out there from the 90s that checked the boxes. That's where the 355 obsession started. After driving different variants of the 993 now I can honestly say zero regrets.
