Hi Guys, I have been a long time lurker here. I joined this forum almost 12 years ago reading anything and everything about these cars. I have slowly worked my way up over the years since graduating college from several BMW M cars to more recently a V12 Aston Martin Vantage and just last year the new AM Vantage. All I was doing was buying time until I was ready to truly make the leap. I am now ready to take the plunge on my first ever Ferrari. I was told it will be about 7-8 months now for the delivery. Does this still hold true? I have also been going back and forth on the options. I’ve attached my build I want to know if I should add or remove any options. Thank you guys in advance! This has been a great forum so far and I am happy to finally become an owner and join you all on this journey.
Great story dude. The year will go quick. Definitely jump at the chance to order the F8 it’s an all time great I think.
It really is a personal decision based on taste and what you want to do. Personally I think mixing in some beige Alcantara would look amazing, into the seats and perhaps below the dash. Alcantara is great on seating surfaces as it does not get shinny and show wear overtime like leather so your seating surfaces will look newer and more fresh longer. Also it breathes extremely well so its comfortable to sit on if you drive for any length of time. Otherwise I am a fan of the sport exhaust, matt black with gold inner, its like $600.00 and looks great.
Additionally my dealer is telling me that there is almost no allocation for F8's available so if you can get one, do it.
There was a post on Reddit a couple days ago asking (roughly) if allocations having ended (rumor from dealer) meant that an “F8 Pista” was on the way. Nobody responded, though I think I can’t even imagine what a factory tuned, scuderia level F8 would be like. It’s already a beast of a car. How do you out pista the pista? Or does the line simply… end? The king is dead. Long live the king. Maybe? [emoji12] Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
For sure, that is indeed what most expect, for all the reasons discussed at length (regulation, development, efficiency, etc). The sales model of more cars but shorter runs and all that. Didn’t mean to try to make it seem like I was starting some debate. OP, to be more clear: if you love the car, don’t worry about the noise. A million things could always happen and if you’re ready to take the plunge then go for it!! I think your build is classic personally. I’ve heard the same with 8mo at dealer, though as others will probably say it can really depend. I sat in the racing seats for the first time just recently - damn, did they feel fantastic. I can see how there’s so much polarity around them for folks though. Someone here said it best; that being in the racing seat is actually like being “in” a seat, vs “on” a seat (latter the standards). Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
The special stitching doesn't show as well in the configurator as in person, so the seats do appear a touch understated (I chose giallo special stitching which likewise doesn't show well on the configurator). I also chose the perimeter seat inserts instead a center racing stripe, to add a pop of color but retain an understated look (as shown in the attached photo). I chose the RSCH style seat (large is a must BTW), in that IMO a modern car deserves a modern looking seat (personal taste; Daytona style seats are very popular). I would delete the CF console bridge and select CF dash inserts and the CF driver's zone. So all of the CF candy will be eye level and everything below eye level will be metallic (silver). I also selected the passenger display, which adds a high tech feature, looks awesome and will further the passenger experience (also shown in the attached photo). The wheels are a struggle; I prefer OEM alloy wheels but the F8 style alloy wheels just don't tickle my fancy. With my order about to lock, the default wheel will be the standard cast 5 spoke. Got a very strange response from one of two dealers I work with about F8 allocations. None of this was confirmable. Dealer is a newly appointed franchise in Naples, FL. They stated “any existing deposited orders for F8 Tributo’s would be honored regardless of time limitations”. Find that hard to believe. Once the 296 series is up and running at full throttle, the factory would be tooled only to produce those models being currently marketed. That said, they were “aggressively” courting me to sell them my ‘21 F8 Spider and ‘21 812GTS. Both offers were 15% over what I paid for each. Obviously, very deep pockets and anxious.
I have had almost every version of the V8 since the Modena. My F8 is the fist car I ordered without racing seats, and all I can say is thank god. I have the full electric seat and now I can actually get a perfect drivers position, totally perfect, its life changing. The racing seats SUCK on the track, they cannot keep up with the performance of the car, you need a full bucket if you want to stay put and the sport seats do not really have lateral support. On the road they suck for long drives and drivers position. I highly recommend looking onto the new "Styled Seat" you can graphically break them up almost like a sport seat, but they do not look as nice, but nice enough IMO. Here are some pics which show the full electric style seat: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
And yes, no F8 light weight, they will go onto the new car and the F8 will only be two production years, very limited.
I found the racing seats with the seat lifter to be quite comfortable, but your point is well taken. Also, as far as the racing seats keeping up with the F8's performance, if I were to track the car (which I won't) I'd do so with six-point belts which I believe would handily solve the problem.
This is what I love about FC - real world feedback. I was wondering about the drivability, but even being snug I thought they fit well. The SA did make that comment though - limited adjustability, and to be really sure one way or the other. While I loved how they totally destroyed my preconceptions about them being straight cardboard (weren’t, to me), I would probably still go with the comfort options. I’m one of those folks that probably wouldn’t be doing m/any track days. I’m also a heathen and actually like the diamond pattern lol what can you do. Everyone rags on it, but I think with the right color stitching, it can pop quite nice [emoji28] Thanks for sharing those photos. I really like your interior color choice. How has the color held up so far? Any concerns on long term disability? It’s such a great look. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Whip, I was given the same info from Naples on several occasions i.e. all orders up to March will be filled. I hope so, I have an order in for the Tributo Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat.com mobile app
I have only driven the car one for about 3 miles so as far as upkeep on the color, I will need to report back...
I’ve decided I’m going to reach out to the dealer and see if I can get a car. I’d love to have the last one built.
I heard from local dealer today that they still are actively proceeding with new deposits on allocations. No end up this way yet! I said the same thing to them haha. I’ll settle for the last in the state
For tributo it was as little as 8mo, for spider it was as little as 12mo. Tack on maybe an extra 4mo for variance, depending on options and all that. Nobody has a crystal ball, but these time tables are interesting if they are trying to close up shop on the F8 with deliveries ending in 2022. You’d figure that the absolute final orders would need to go in any time now. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
