2021 Carmel Concours on the Avenue

Only a few vintage Ferraris today, but I thought I'd post pics for those who couldn't attend. Please excuse poor iPhone pics. There was also a display of 6-7 modern Ferraris.

^^^ No sorry, my friends were moving too quickly and the people in front of the cars were moving slowly! Perhaps Doug Freedman can supply the info from the registrations.

He was very gentlemanly. As I was admiring his car and taking my pic, he asked the young boy & his mother if the boy would like to open the door and sit behind the wheel, and encouraged the mother to get closer to the car to take several photos of her son.

a famous singer once owned it. sam (dont know last name)

Lusso 5207 GT:
A later (not the first) owner was Samuel Cooke, an African-American recording artist and R&B singer born on the 22nd January 1931 in Clarksdale, Mississippi, resident in Los Angeles, CA/USA.
11 December 1964 Cooke was murdered at the Hacienda Motel in Santa Monica and the Lusso sold by the LA County Probate for 7 K $ to Vandagriff/Hollywood Sport Cars. Later on Vandagriff sold it to Dennis Carl Wilson, drummer of the Beach Boys, who paid 10 Grand. Wilson lost the Lusso in his divorce from Carole Wilson.
Orwin got it November 1986.

Ah I forgot that there were 3-4 Dinos on a side street in Siberia. Unfortunately I was chatting with a friend so I didn't take any pics of them. They & the owners looked familiar from prior years' Concorsos, but I could be mistaken.

 

Thanks for sharing the pics, This was the first year I wasn't at the Tues Carmel Concours on the Avenue.

Bumperless is the best.

 

I owned 8025 for two years before trading it in 2006 to RPM for my GTC/4. I am very glad to see the new owner is taking good care of it and is as welcoming as I was about sharing the car with others. Thank you John H.!
