It had far more miles, IIRC around 16k. I don't have any specifics, but a friend who was there - and happens to own a nice F40 - said it "isn't a nice car"

The F40 in your link has kms similar to the US car offered by Bonhams and the price is roughly equal to what the Bonhams car would have brought with fees, at the high bid... Since US cars are generally more valuable, it would seem the seller of that car in France is thinking the Euro market is running hot ;)

    For Americans/American market ONLY.
    Not for ROW.
    It is all market-specific.
And don't forget exchange rates, not to mention transport, import, customs, taxes, etc.

Yes, but generally, at any given time, the most expensive F40 on the market will be a US-spec car in the US, once all factors are accounted for.

Totally agree… American cars are not more valuable imo…The purest form of a classic is European imo + no mouse belts;)

No, there were two different cars. One sold for $2.2m before fees ($2.425 with fees), the other sold for $2.625 before fees ($2.892m with fees). Look at ttforcefed’s screenshots.

Ok, guess I misunderstood. I said F40s are closing in on $3m (because of the $2.89m sale) and you quoted it and said the F40 sold for $2.2m.

Anyway - carry on, bubble is alive and well!

A 2008 F430 6-speed sold last night for $307k with fees. That exact car I almost bought in 2017 for $154k. I had a deal on it back then and passed for some stupid reasons. Doubled in 4 years.

I think that the car needs to live there, not the human. I have a second home in a different state than my primary home and I have several cars registered there. I register each car where the car primarily stays. Unfortunately neither home is in Montana, but that might change soon.

I don't see the Carbon weave on the French car. That is just one of the things I've learned over the years to look for. Of course ,I'd want to know a whole more bunch of things. I don't have that kind of coin anyway but I would keep my 348 and buy a 355 next if the market would cool. Market prices are hotter than Houses on some of these. So I will continue to drool on my keyboard!! Haha

Capone went to jail for failing to pay Federal Income Tax. Registering a car in Montana would an avoidance of a State Sales Tax.

But don't loans by foreign countries end up denominated in their currency? And don't you usually have to be a citizen of that country and have assets there to get one?
