More accurate to say that Motorclassica ripped off the Pebble Beach format. They also ignore the historical context. Pebble Beach started out as a race meeting where the concours was a side event. The Tour is a homage to the racing history and also an anti-"trailer queen" effort by giving extra concours points to people who risk getting their cars dirty. The Tour assembly from first light is the best part of the weekend, apart from Laguna Seca historic racing.
The MC tour is huge fun as the cars all get lost and finish up going in all directions, so seeing cars on tour going the opposite way adds to the entertainment..
Never put me in charge of a drive day ..... I'm the first one to get lost !! Oh wait, I'm doing the FNR drive day .... good luck everyone
Awesome video thanks for posting, my one & only visit was back in '94, watching this & seeing other photos has made me realise I must go back for a second tour/visit.
My memory of Ferrari drive days especially on national rallies, was it always seemed like if the leader in a group went the wrong way, it was a case of "follow the red Ferrari in front" then some time later you'd see them coming back in the opposite direction
