Hey Folks, I'm in need of a rear spoiler/wing for my 308 any suggestions of where to get one used or new. Thanks again... Dean
Smooth = supposed to match the steel roof of your GTB, whether the roof spoiler is in body color (in some countries) or black; or the body color of your GTS, if your spoiler has been chosen in "Body Color" (available in some European Coutries). Textured (= black): supposed to match the texture of your GTS removable roof, when your spoiler is black. Rgds
I have a used one (textured) that I might sell... let me ponder a bit on a price and shipping costs, and I'll send a PM your way.
Ok, just double-checked the garage - my memory had failed, is mine is actually smooth. So - good luck in your searching.
In the US, I think they were all black, yes. In most european countries, you could order the rear aerofoil "body color" (at least for 328s), and at no extra cost, in which case you got the "smooth" one, painted (The "textured" one could not be painted). Rgds
I would have though painting the textured aerofoil would be similar to painting the textured targa roof panels on the GTS cars?
I have one with a friend in Ottawa I might sell. Send me a pm with whatever the market value seems to be. Cheers derek
articlighting took one off my old #22641 during it's restoration. Looks like you have some offers. AFAIK on the GTB they were smooth, on a GTS it was slightly textured to match the roof panel?? Who knows.....
If your still looking I might have one I took off a 1980 308 gtsi Id want 450.00 plus shipping. If interested let me know
Actually, they are somewhat arbitrary. My 85 GTB QV came new from the factory with a textured spoiler. So that's at least 1 GTB with textured. Maybe Luigi the spoiler installer had a little to much vino at lunch the day he did my car. Image Unavailable, Please Login Frankly, I much prefer the textured type.
Yep. We had that discussion a few years ago already. Brian ("Rifledriver") who was there when the cars were sold new had the same interpretation; the principle was that GTBs should have received smooth spoilers (either black or body color) but some left the factory with a black textured spoiler from new, depending on what was available at the time. My 328 GTS (not my GTB, my GTS) is Nero Metallic (Nero Fer 901/C) and has a smooth spoiler, painted; it could have had a standard textured black one and it wouldn't actually have made a big difference, but she was ordered new (in Germany) with a smooth, body color painted one.
