    Hi,

Looks really nice IMHO, however a period radio would finish the center console better. Cheers!

Yes, the Becker radio is a bit of an anachronism.

Why do so many second series cars have misaligned rear bumper sections?

The bumpers, at some point, bumped.

The auction companies push no reserve to encourage more bidding "because the car will actually sell".

In reality, NR sales seem to indicate either a desperate seller, or someone that's trying to pawn off a problem - as you said, creating doubt in the mind of the bidders. Almost universally, NR cars achieve very poor results and the seller has no control. This would be my absolute last choice in method of sale.

These pictures were part of the press packet for the series 2 introduction. This car has 2 features that I haven't see on any others.
    1. The circular recessed reflectors. These eventually went into production for the 330 GTC, but not in the 2+2 model.
    2. The flow through vents across the top of the rear window.

And yes, getting the three parts of the rear bumper take some work to get them aligned. Sometimes the T shaped brackets need to be modified to allow alignment with the holes in the fender sides where the outer ends are bolted.

As an FYI, I bought the car the day after the auction closed subject to a full PPP. The car was as represented—things sell for pretty much what there worth and the seller (an absolute pleasure to deal with) knew that.

Congrats on the purchase. It was a local car to you, it seems. It appeared to be a strong car mechanically across a few videos that covered a several years. So you're saying they got asking price? With the included tool kit I'd say that was well-bought and sold.

Thanks—it’s an honest car and we are going to sort (pretty much all the mechanical things that needed to be addressed) it but leave it otherwise as presented. As to purchase price, I won’t say what I paid, but it was not more than the High bid on BAT. Thanks again.

What did the cars go for at auction? Did they meet reserve?

Does anyone have any insight on why 8947 sold for so much? Was this car “over restored” ? Is it the red book? At 475 you are approaching driver GTC prices.

Unusual but correct original color, restored in Italy by marque expert, Classiche certification, multiple trophies...nothing better unless Steve McQueen owned it.:)

    330 GT 2+2 #8947 GT.

Correct size tyres are 205 VR15, not 205/70 VR15 as are on the car. Should be Pirelli Cinturato CN72 also.

See Longstone Tyres in link here.

Any thoughts on the change in value of this vehicle (9089) given the replacement roof due to a hidden sunroof? Does it detract from the value versus an equivalent model without that history or is it a non-factor? The only evidence of the repair is a crack in the paint at the base of the rear pillar on the driver's side, and that may have nothing to do with the repair itself. It was RNM on BaT 12/16/22.
