206 S 026.

The owner of Dino 206 S #026, coverage of which starts at about 1:01:55, states that the chassis was cold hardened due to fire. Does anyone know if Ferrari Classiche would have insisted on replacing the chassis, or at least the cold hardened parts of it, for it to get the Red Book?

 

It is the original frame, the chassis was not replaced.

Thanks. Wouldn't there be an issue with the frame metal becoming brittle due to the cold hardened metal, thus changing the specification and strength of the frame? Is this perhaps a listed qualification in the Red Book report for #026 which the issuance of Classiche status by Ferrari can be subject to?

 

Upon detailed inspection the frame was deemed correct.

In the video from around here, the owner says that Ferrari used a spectrometer showing the metal on the chassis was the correct composition and that it had been cold hardened in a fire proving it was what it was.
